PURPOSE:To make the contact between a magnetic head and a recording medium stable by providing a collar at one side or both sides of a recording/reproducing core and an erasure core so as to increase the contact area with a recording medium even if the recording/reproducing core and the erasure core are worn. CONSTITUTION:Erasure gap width is regulated by slots 8a, 8b and 8c in a couple of erasure gaps comprising erasure cores 2a, 2b. The recording/reproducing core 1a and the erasure core 1b are provided respectively with a collar in a direction along the recording medium running. The collar of the recording/reproducing core and the collar of the erasure core are directed in opposite side respectively in the recording medium running direction.
