Claims

By depressing the parking brake pedal provided in the front part of the floor of the driver's seat and locking it in this state, the parking brake is maintained in an activated state, and the lock is released by operating a release lever by hand. This foot-operated parking brake consists of a horizontal groove located in the center console that extends approximately horizontally, and a vertical groove that extends upward approximately vertically from this horizontal groove, and the horizontal groove and the vertical groove are connected to each other. A guide plate having an L-shaped guide groove in which a narrowed portion is formed in the horizontal groove immediately before the intersection point, and one end of the locking mechanism of the foot-operated parking brake is connected to the other end of the cable. The pin is fitted into a guide groove so that it can move along the guide groove, and the pin is fixed to the lower end part and the upper end part is moved in a substantially horizontal direction, so that the fixed part is brought into contact with the middle part as a fulcrum. The pin is moved along the horizontal groove of the guide groove, and when the pin passes through the narrowed part, it overcomes the resistance caused by contact with the narrowed part and reaches the intersection of the horizontal groove and the vertical groove, at which point it becomes approximately vertical. There is a lever that moves the pin vertically along the guide groove, thereby releasing the lock, and a lever that locks one end of the lever in the lower end and the other end of the lever that locks the pin in the guide groove. A release lever for a foot-operated parking brake, comprising a return spring that applies spring force to the lever so as to be located at the lower end of the lever.
