First, perform sealing welding,
This was a two-stage process in which the main welding was then performed.

Even if such a method were attempted, the sealing bead would rise excessively, which would impede the actual welding. The present invention is capable of attaching these two types of torches to one traveling truck and still obtaining an effective sealing bead. The sealing gas welding speed is adapted to the welding speed of the main welding by intermittent sealing welding current. It is something. FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing the concept of the apparatus used in the method of the present invention, in which 1 is a traveling truck, 2 is a submerged arc welding torch, 3 is a flux tank for the same, 4 is the same spray nozzle, 5 is the same recovery nozzle, 7 numeral 8 is a welding torch using C02 gas, etc., 8 is a detection sensor for welding line 9, and 11 is a control box which includes a timer and a switch for adjusting submerged welding conditions as well as intermittent welding current using shield gas using C02 gas.

The period of this current intermittent, the magnitude of the current, the distribution of its duration and rest time, etc. are determined in relation to the size of the butt gap and the speed of main welding, but a considerable part must be determined by experiment. Figure 2 shows an example of a good sealing bead obtained in this way, where the bead 20 is a spot weld 2 where the front end and the back overlap.
It appears as a series of 0a. In other words, a good sealing bead is determined by the size of each point of point solubility, the degree of build-up, the degree of mutual overlap, etc. As described above, the present invention is characterized in that main welding using a submerged arc method and sealing welding using a shield gas method can be performed in the same process using a single traveling carriage.
