Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a reproduction-only area and a recording and reproducing area on the same medium and recording and reproducing information on the medium by identifying whether recording is allowed or not with addresses of tracks and sending the result as control information. CONSTITUTION:The address of the track of a recording area 11 is inputted to an input part 2, the control information is inputted to an input part 3, and information is inputted to an input part 1. A comparing part 7 compares the starting address of the recording and reproducing area in a storage part 6 with the track address and supplies a control information output part 4 with a signal indicating the input address is an information recordable address according to the comparison result. Further, the input address from the input part 2 is supplied to an information recording part 9 through the comparing part 7 and a track address specifying part 8. Consequently, the information of the input part 1 is recorded on the specified track. When the comparing part 7 decides that recording is ineffective, information recording is not performed.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Field of the Invention The present invention relates to an information recording/reproducing apparatus for recording or reproducing information on a recording medium having a track-structured recording area.

Structure of conventional example and its problems Conventional information recording and reproducing devices consist of a read-only type information recording and reproducing device that reproduces information on a recording medium consisting of only read-only tracks, and a read-only type information recording and reproducing device that reproduces information on a recording medium consisting of only read-only tracks. [Claims] (1) Information reproducing means for reproducing information in a recording area including a reproduction-only area consisting of tracks on which only information can be reproduced and a recording/reproducing area consisting of tracks on which information can be recorded and reproduced; 1. An information recording/reproducing device, comprising: information recording means for recording information in a region, and identifying whether only reproduction is possible or recording/reproducing is possible based on a trunk address. (2) The information recording and reproducing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein information is previously recorded in the reproduction-only area by using changes in the surface shape of the medium.
