Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain ease of sectioning of a fault by providing a means for displaying on/off state of each signal of a mutual connection circuit with a data terminal equipment, a means for delaying a next numeral request signal to the data terminal equipment for a prescribed time and a means for selecting making the delay means effective or ineffective when a fault takes place in the automatic call function. CONSTITUTION:The titled control unit consists of a display circuit 5 displaying 8 kinds of signals between unit 1 and equipment 2, a circuit 3 retarding a next number request signal being one of the 8 kinds of signals for a prescribed time and a circuit 4 executing a selection for making the delay circuit effect or ineffective. In case of the automatic calling, 8 kinds of signals are transmitted and received according to the procedure between the unit 1 and equipment 2 according to the procedure. In case of normal use, since the delay circuit 4 is not required, the changeover at normal state and maintanance is attained by providing the circuit 4 selecting the ineffective/effective state of the delay circuit 3. If a fault takes place in the automatic call function, the delay circuit 3 is made effective to demarcate a fault between the network control unit and the data terminal equipment by observing the procedure of the transmission/reception of the signal between the network control unit 1 and the data terminal equipment 2.

When performing automatic calling, eight types of signals are exchanged between devices 1 and 2 according to procedures. In Figure 1, 5
is a circuit that displays the aforementioned eight types of signals. By using the display circuit 5, it is possible to observe the on/off state of the signal during automatic calling.

The next number request signal is a signal sent from the network control device to the data terminal device, and the number information signal and the number display signal are signals received by the network control device from the data terminal device. When the network controller turns off the next number request signal, the data terminal equipment turns off the number display signal. When the number display signal is turned off, the network control device turns on the next number request signal again.

The network controller # has a minimum pause Tm and a signal transmission time T,
When this period has elapsed, the next number request signal is turned off and the above-described procedure is repeated. Here, the sum of the minimum pause and signal sending time is usually about 0.1 seconds, and it is considered that the above-mentioned three types of signals cannot be observed even if they are displayed on the display circuit 5. Therefore, focusing on the fact that signals are exchanged asynchronously between the network control device and the data terminal device, the time until the next number request signal is turned off is delayed using the delay circuit 3 shown in FIG. By using the delay circuit 3), it is possible to provide a delay time Td as shown in FIG. 2 when the delay circuit is enabled. By setting an appropriate delay time, it becomes possible to observe the three types of signals described above.

As for the other five types of signals, since the on/off time width is large, it is possible to observe the signal state due to the procedure, and a p-delay circuit is not required.

Since the delay circuit 3 is not required in normal use, a circuit 4 for selecting whether to enable or disable the delay circuit 3 shown in FIG. 1 is provided to switch p1 between normal operation and maintenance operation.
