には一定の時間が必要となるため、PGM符号のモード
切替わりのタイミングと、受信機がモード切替えに対応
するタイミングとに差が生じ、このだめモード切替え時
に過渡的に大きな雑音を発生してしまう。そこで、この
雑音の発生を防止するために放送信号中にさらに音声抑
圧指示符号が伝送されている。すなわち、モード切替え
のタイミングに先立ち、送信側よりあらかじめ音声抑圧
指示符号を送出し、受信機の音声を強制的に抑圧させる
