Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit to obtain sufficient capacity upon both of room cooling and heating operations by a method wherein a slinger ring, made of a shape-memory alloy changing the shape thereof in accordance with an atmospheric temperature, is provided at the outer periphery of an outdoor fan. CONSTITUTION:Upon the room cooling operation, the condensed water, generated in an indoor heat exchanger 7, is reserved in a base plate 8 through a drain pipe 10 and is splashed to an outdoor heat exchanger 4 by the slinger ring 2 of shape-memory alloy, which is being rotated together with the outdoor fan 1, whereby the capacity of a condenser is increased. Upon the room heating operation, the slinger rings 2 is brought into the deformation condition of low temperature side and is bent to the inside thereof as shown by arrow signs. Accordingly, the condensed water, generated in the outdoor heat exchanger 4, is not splashed to the outdoor heat exchanger 4 by the slinger ring 2, therefore, the capacity of an evaporator will never be decreased and, further, evaporating temperature in the evaporator will never be reduced.
