例を示す側面図で、胴lの前v+r、+に回転円形力・
ター2を有し、力・タン2こは必要数の切削刃7が取り
つけられる。3は覆エセグメン1−で胴1の通過後の周
壁は覆工セグメントによって固められる。回転円形カッ
ター2の回転と前進により削られた土砂は同カックー2
の開口部を通して後方のチャンバ−4に入り、コンヘア

体積はその土が地山にあった時の体積と通席等しくなく
土質によって変化するため、切削前後の土量の対応がで
きず、もし切削後中央カッター前面に詰った土が膨張傾
向のときは詰った土は中央カッターを押しつけ中央カッ
ターの切削に要する力が大きくなり力・7ターの回転が
阻害され、又切削後中央カックー前面に詰った土が収縮
傾向にある場合には中央カックー面と切羽面との間に隙

反Ia力を利用するとか、油圧シリンダーの油圧を一定
にする蓄圧器の作用を利用するなどさまざまの機構が考
