  1. 始動プーリを介してクランク軸にトルクを伝達するよう
    設けた始動軸と、この始動軸に回転自在に軸着したリー
    ルと、このリールに巻回した始動ロープと、前記リール
    に復元力を付与するりコイルスプリングと、前記始動プ
    ーリ、始動軸、−リール、リコイルスプリングを覆うリ
    コイルケースとからなるエンジンのりコイルスタータに
    おいて、前記リールの周縁部およびリコイルケース内壁
    部でラビリンス・バッキングを形成したことを特徴とす
    るりコイルスタータの防塵装置。
