Abstract

PURPOSE:To block ringing of a bell of a telephone set by rising a consumed current value of a terminal device in a slow time and giving much time also to the falling. CONSTITUTION:When a power supply is applied to input terminals 1, 2 or the power supply is interrupted, a capacitor 11 is connected in parallel with a constant voltage diode 5 to prevent ringing of a bell of a telephone set and a series circuit comprising a capacitor 12 and a resistor 13 is connected in parallel with a resistor 6. The capacitor 11 plays a roll preventing a specified voltage from being applied immediately across the constant voltage diode 5 at application of power and has a function slow down the rising operation of the power supply. Moreover, the capacitor 12 and the resistor 13 play a roll keeping the base potential of a transistor 8 to the operating state to the utmost when the power supply to a power supply circuit is interrupted, and have a function to slow the falling of the power supply.

The most important consideration in a terminal device installed in parallel with such a telephone is to prevent the bell ringing of the a-packing machine when the terminal device is used. Generally, when the phone is turned off, no current flows, but
For example, if the terminal device is activated in this state, or if the automatic meter reading is completed and the activation is canceled, a current change may occur in the telephone line, causing the telephone to ring at 1 or 0. This bell occurs because the direct current changes in the telephone line are sudden.

In such conventional circuits, when power is turned on (supplied) to input terminals 1 and 2 for automatic meter reading, or when power is cut off (supply stopped) to input terminal 12 after automatic meter reading is completed, , the operating system immediately becomes inactive in response to these changes, resulting in a large current change in the telephone line, which has the drawback of causing telephones connected in parallel to ring.
