Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the continuity test of a heater to be performed at the same time as the heater is fixed in place by welding, by providing conductive terminals to contact the outer leads of each heater and a continuity indicating device on the stem retaining portion of an electron gun assembling jig. CONSTITUTION:A pair of conductive terminals 51, 51 made of a metallic plate provided with a spring force is disposed on the surface of an insulative stem outer leads retaining portion 34, and the terminals 51, 51 are adapted to cover holes 35a, 35a through which a pair of heater outer leads 12a, 12a are to be passed, and the terminals are connected with one end of a power source 52 and one end of a continuity indicating device 53 which is connected in series with the power source 52. When the stem outer leads are inserted into the through holes 35 from below, the ends of the pair of heater outer leads 12a, 12a abut against the bottom face of respective conductive terminals 51, 51, and then, upon welding of a pair of inner leads 13a, 13a for the heater to heater tabs 41, 41, the continuity of the heater outer leads 12a can be tested by operation of the continuity indicating device 53.

In the example shown in FIG. 3, there are 14 welding locations related to the heater. Further, the core wire material of the heater 3υ is made of a high melting point metal material such as tungsten, and the core wire diameter is 0.03 to α1M, which is very delicate. Therefore, depending on subtle changes in welding conditions, operator proficiency, etc., the heater? It is easy for the υ weld to melt or come off.

In the above configuration, as described in FIG. 2, the stem (υ is to the stem fixing part) and the electrode (14 bodies (2) are fixed to the electrode structure fixing part c3) shown in FIG. At this time, each stem outer lead shown in FIG. 1 is inserted into each of the outer lead insertion holes (1) from below. At this time, in the configuration shown in Fig. 4, there are 7 inner and outer heaters for each stem rear heater and one pair of heaters. The ends of J-F (12a) and (12'b) are still in contact with the lower surface of the respective conductive terminals i) and υ,
Due to the spring force of the continuity terminal ψυ, q), it is electrically connected reliably to this. From this, the electrode structure (2) and each stem inner lead 04 are connected by welding, but in this step, as shown in Figure 3, a pair of heater inner leads (13a) and (13a) and a heater tab are connected. (B)
, 0]), the continuity terminal Φυ, $ in Fig. 4 is welded.
A short circuit occurs between υ. At this time, it is possible to determine whether or not the heater outer lead (12a) is electrically conductive based on whether or not the electrical continuity indicator is operated.

In the above embodiment, a light emitting diode was used as the continuity indicator, but the actual continuity indicator is an incandescent lamp, an electronic buzzer, a meter, etc.
In addition, the power source Q5 is not limited to batteries, but may be any other AC power source, and furthermore, a tester or resistance meter with an integrated indicator and power source may also be used.

As can be seen from the above description, according to the present invention, the continuity test of the heater can be performed at the same time as the stem inner lead and the electrode structure are assembled in the process of welding the stem inner lead and the electrode assembly, and therefore, compared to the conventional method, This has the effect of promoting labor saving and contributing to cost reduction of electron guns.
