A metal panel 5 is arranged on the display element 1, a protrusion 5a provided on the end surface of the metal panel 5 is inserted into the printed circuit board 3, and the metal panel 5 is pressed against the printed circuit board 3, so that the conductive rubber 4 is exposed to a certain extent. The projecting portion 5a is bent by applying compressive force, and the liquid crystal display element 1 and the conductive rubber 4 are clamped and fixed between the metal panel 5 and the printed circuit board 3.

。When we investigated the amount of static electricity that would destroy the LCD driving LSI 2, we found that static electricity in a conventional LCD device is 6 to 8K.
However, in the liquid crystal display device according to the present invention, the static electricity margin is approximately doubled when the static electricity is 14 to 16 KV.
The reliability of the liquid crystal driving L8I2 against static electricity is improved.

In a liquid crystal display device that is clamped and fixed to a substrate, the metal panel is electrically connected to the ground by painting the metal panel and bringing the protrusion of the metal panel into contact with a grounded pad on the printed circuit board. This increases the static electricity margin and improves the reliability of the liquid crystal driving LSI against static electricity.
