The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a contact tape. Conventionally, in order to make a contact tape, a contact metal tape 2 is placed on the upper and lower surfaces (or either one) of a contact material tape 1 having a cross-sectional shape as shown in FIG.
It is made by welding. That is, as shown in FIG. 2, the contact material tape 1 and the contact metal tape 2 are sandwiched between the grooves 4 and 4' provided in the upper and lower pair of electrode rolls 3 and 3', respectively, and the electrode rolls 3 and 3' are energized. By doing this, attach the contact metal tape 2 to the contact material tape 1.
is welded together to form contact tape. In this case, the grooves 4 and 4' of the electrode rolls 3 and 3' are designed so that the sides of the contact base tape 1 do not come into close contact with each other so that the contact tape does not get caught in the grooves 4 and 4' of the electrode rolls 3 and 3'. It was tapered into a trapezoidal shape to provide a certain amount of clearance. For this reason, when welding the contact base material tape 1 and the contact metal tape 2, there is play in the contact base material tape 1, and as shown in FIG. 3, the contact base material tape 1 tends to tilt. There are cases where the contact metal tape 2 is welded while the contact metal tape 1 is tilted. As a result, the welding strength varies, and sufficient welding strength may not be obtained or welding may not be performed at the correct position, and the side surface of the contact base tape 1 may be damaged. The present invention has been made in order to eliminate such drawbacks, and includes a bulge in contact with the side wall of a trapezoidal groove formed by tapering an electrode roll during welding with the contact metal tape on the side surface of the contact material tape. Provided is a method for manufacturing a contact tape that prevents a contact base tape from tilting during welding with a contact metal tape by providing a groove, and forms and removes the swollen part of the contact base tape after welding to obtain a contact tape. This is what I am trying to do. Examples will be described below to specifically explain the present invention. Example 1 A contact material tape 6 made of Cu-20%Ni by weight and a contact made of Ag-60%Pd having an octagonal cross-sectional shape with a bulge 5 on the side as shown in FIG. 4a. After the metal tape 7 is continuously sandwiched between the grooves 9 and 9' of the electrode rolls 8 and 8' as shown in FIG.
The contact metal tape 7 is welded to the upper and lower surfaces of the
A contact tape 10 having a shape as shown in FIG. Thereafter, this contact tape 10 is wire-drawn using a forming die to form a contact tape 1 having a shape as shown in FIG. 4d.
I got 0'. Embodiment 2 Approximately semicircular bulge 1 on the side as shown in Fig. 5a
A contact support tape 12 made of Fe-15%Ni by weight and a contact metal tape 13 made of Au-8%Ag having a barrel-shaped cross-sectional shape are continuously connected as shown in FIG. 5b. The electrode rolls 14, 1 are sandwiched between the grooves 15, 15' of the electrode rolls 14, 14'.
4' was energized, and the contact metal tape 13 was welded to the upper and lower surfaces of the contact support tape 12 to form a contact tape 16 having the shape shown in FIG. 5c. After that, this contact tape 16 is wire-drawn using a forming die to form a fifth wire.
A contact tape 16' having a shape as shown in FIG. d was obtained. Next, for the contact tapes 10' and 16' obtained in Examples 1 and 2, 10 points each were arbitrarily selected and the welding strength at those points was measured. The base tape and the contact metal tape were welded together using the conventional method. We randomly selected 10 locations on each contact tape and measured the welding strength at a 2 mm 2 area. The results are shown in the table below. Obtained. Sample in table
No. 1 is a contact tape made of Example 1, No. 2 is a contact tape made of Example 2, and No. 3 is a contact tape made of the same material as Example 1 but obtained by a conventional method. No. 4 is a contact tape made of the same material as in Example 2, but obtained by a conventional method.

[Table] As is clear from the table above, the contact tape obtained by the manufacturing method of the present invention has much higher welding strength than the contact tape obtained by the conventional manufacturing method, and It can be seen that there is not much difference between the highest and lowest strength, and it is relatively stable. As detailed above, the method for manufacturing a contact tape according to the present invention uses a contact material tape having a swollen part on the side surface that comes into contact with the side wall of the groove of the electrode roll during welding. It can be easily inserted between the grooves of the electrode roll, and even if the contact base tape tends to tilt during welding with the contact metal tape, the swollen part will come into contact with the side wall of the groove of the electrode roll. , the contact base tape is prevented from tilting, and the contact base tape is always held in a constant position. Therefore, the contact metal tape is always welded to a fixed position on the contact support tape, and a contact tape having sufficient welding strength and always stable welding strength can be obtained. In addition, even if there is some damage to the side of the contact tape, the bulges are removed by wire drawing, so
It has the effect of completely removing scratches.
