As shown in the cross-sectional view in FIG. 2, the intake duct part 8a is formed in a bell mouth shape so as to properly guide wind to the fan 1 with low noise, and the tip of the fan 1. It consists of a cylindrical portion 8b facing the fan 1 with a small gap therebetween, and a skirt portion 8c formed into a bell mouth shape so as to guide the wind from the fan 1 to the radiator without loss. The inner surface of this shroud 8 is a smooth surface so that the wind can flow without loss, and the outer surface is provided with a plurality of reinforcing ribs 8d spaced at approximately equal intervals on the circumference in order to improve rigidity. In the embodiment, Article 8) is provided.

That is, the arm 7 protrudes from the intake duct part 8a at a right angle, and as a result, the intake duct part 8a can maintain its bellmouth shape for as long as possible, thereby reducing the noise caused by adopting the bellmouth shape. The effects of reduction and reduction of ventilation resistance can be maximized.

A nut 10 embedded in the tip portion 9a allows the fan shroud 3 to be attached to a radiator or an automobile body. It is designed to be attached to a mounting member such as the following. Therefore, this installation stay 9
The installation location will be selected appropriately depending on the shape of the vehicle body, etc., and since the arms 7 mentioned above are arranged at approximately equal angles apart, the mounting stay 9 and the arm 7 are the same. It is becoming difficult to place them on the line.

In order to facilitate die cutting, the cross-sectional area of the shroud portion 8, especially its skirt portion 8c, is the same or gradually increases toward the outer circumferential direction (direction A in FIG. 4). In FIG. 5, reference numeral 8e denotes a reinforcing rib that is integrally formed at a position on the outer surface of the shroud portion 8 in the connecting portion space 11, and is used to improve the rigidity of the connecting portion.

It is possible to eliminate the need for welding between the shroud portion 8 and the arm 9 and the welding between the shroud portion 8 and the mounting stay 9, which greatly improves work efficiency and significantly reduces manufacturing costs. Furthermore, since lightweight materials such as resin and aluminum are used, the weight of Fan Shroud 3 has been significantly reduced, and it is used particularly as a fan shroud for automobile radiators, where weight reduction is strongly required to improve fuel efficiency. In some cases, this weight reduction is sufficient to satisfy the requirements of the automotive industry. In particular, where resin is used as the material, the material cost can be considerably lower than that of conventional materials (conventionally, iron plates).

Furthermore, since reinforcing ribs 8e are also provided on the connecting portion 11 between the shroud portion 8 and the mounting stay 9, the durability of the fan shroud 3 is sufficient.

That is, in the above example, the flange portion 4 and the mounting stay 9
Although the nuts 5 and 10 provided in the above are integrally molded by embedding, the nuts 5 and 10 may be added and fixed in a later process, and in the above example, the arms 7 and 10 having a U-shaped cross section are The mounting stay 9 may have other shapes such as a streamlined shape.

The shapes of the skirt portion a and the skirt portion 8c may be a simple taper shape or an arc shape. In short, the ventilation resistance of air passing through the fan shroud 3 can be reduced if the end face of the shroud part has an inclined shape in which the cross-sectional area increases rapidly as it goes outward from the shroud part.

It goes without saying that it can also be used as a so-called suction type fan shroud.
However, in that case, the air flow will be in the opposite direction to the direction shown by arrow A in FIG.
A curvature as large as that shown in FIG. 2 is not required.

Because the end surface of the shroud is designed to protrude, the sloped shape of the end face of the shroud can be maintained for as long as possible, and the effect of reducing noise and ventilation resistance due to the adoption of the sloped shape can be maximized. It has excellent effects.
