A generally well-known color electrophotographic copying machine repeats the formation of an electrostatic latent image, development, and transfer of a visible image, or the formation of an electrostatic latent image, the transfer of a latent image, and development for the number of color separations. This is a method to obtain a color copy of the original on a recording sheet, but because the process is repeated, the copying efficiency is not very good.
A method has been proposed for improving copying efficiency by simultaneously performing several color separations while conveying an original.

The light source tubes 31, 32, and 33 are of the same type. Taking the light source tube 31 as an example, as shown in FIG. , the filament 31B is stretched in a straight line, and the light emitting sources F-1, F-

By the way, in the case of color copying, as mentioned above,
The light used to expose the photoreceptor is color-separated light, that is, light sent through a filter, so the amount of light that exposes the photoreceptor is only a few tenths of the amount of light reflected from the original. First, in order to expose the photoreceptor with a sufficient amount of light, the amount of illumination itself must be increased. In the document illuminating device as shown in FIG. 1, the amount of light emitted from each of the light source tube lights 31, 32, and 33 is therefore required to be quite large.

Furthermore, the portion of the mirror surface of the reflecting mirror where the reflected light is vignetted by the light source tube cannot effectively contribute to the illumination of the slit-shaped illumination section as a reflecting surface.

As a lighting system that can avoid such inconveniences, the one shown in FIG. 3 has been proposed. In the figure, reference numerals 51, 52, 53, and 54 indicate reflecting mirrors. In this illumination method, the reflecting mirror 52,
There is no wasted part on the reflecting mirror surfaces of 53 and 54, and the illumination parts of slits SL 1 and SL 2 are 2.
Since it will be illuminated by the light source tube light of the book,
It has very good lighting efficiency. When the same light source tube lamp as in the example shown in FIG. 1 is used, the illuminance can be increased by 30% in the illuminated area of slit SL 3 and by about 60% in the illuminated areas of slits SL 1 and SL 2 .

しかし、このような照明方式にも問題はある。

Part of the light emitted from the light source of the light source tube 32 is reflected by the reflective surface 52A of the reflecting mirror 52, and the other part is reflected by the reflective surface 52B. The light reflected by the reflecting surface 52A becomes a focused light beam and illuminates the slit SL1 portion. On the other hand, the reflected light from the reflective surface 52B becomes convergent light and enters the reflective surface 51C of the reflective mirror 51, and after the reflected light is once converged, it becomes a divergent light beam and passes through the slit SL1.

In other words, the illuminance distribution in the width direction of the slit-shaped illumination section changes considerably due to minute changes in the positional relationship of the reflecting surfaces, but since the reflecting surfaces of different reflecting mirrors are combined, the mutual position of the reflecting mirrors changes considerably. Adjusting the relationship is extremely difficult, and requires extremely high precision in the mirror surface of each reflector.

Now, the characteristics of the present invention in this embodiment are as follows. That is, the first one is the reflecting mirror 61, which constitutes the first reflecting mirror group A.
62 and 63 are movable in a direction parallel to the document transport surface and perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the light source tube, that is, in the left and right direction in FIG. This is something that can be fine-tuned.

The second feature is that the plane mirrors 71 to 75 constituting the second reflecting mirror group C can each swing around an axis parallel to the longitudinal direction thereof. Of course, the pivot axis of each plane mirror lies within the individual plane mirror. Furthermore, the reflecting mirrors 71 to 7
5 is capable of parallel movement in a direction perpendicular to its own longitudinal direction and parallel to the document transport surface.

Now, because of the above-mentioned features, the document illumination device according to the present invention can properly illuminate the slit-shaped illumination section. This will be explained below. First, the reflector 61 is attached to the fifth light source tube light 31.
Move left and right in the figure, and among the reflective surfaces,
The convergent reflected light beam by the lower part illuminates the correct part of the slit SL 1 (see FIG. 1). Next, the plane mirror 72 is moved in the left-right direction in FIG. 5 so that the convergent reflected light beam from the upper reflecting surface of the reflecting mirror 61 is appropriately incident on the plane mirror 72. Next, the plane mirror 72 is swung, and the plane mirror 72 is
so that the reflected light flux properly illuminates the slit SL 1 . In this way, the positions of the reflecting mirror 61 and the plane mirror 72 are adjusted and fixed.

Next, the reflector 62 is moved so that the light reflected by the lower left reflecting surface of the reflector 62 of the light source tube 32 properly illuminates the slit SL 1 , and the reflector is placed in this position. 62 is fixed. Next, the plane mirror 71 is moved in the left-right direction so that the light reflected by the upper left reflecting surface of the reflector 62 properly enters the plane mirror 71, and further, the plane mirror 71 is swung so that the light beam reflected by the plane mirror 71 is properly reflected. slit

Reflecting mirrors 62, 63 forming the first reflecting mirror group A
can be divided into two parts 6 as in the example shown in FIG.
It is also possible to divide it into 2A and 62B and move each of them separately. By doing so, the illumination state can be adjusted more easily. Also,
By making the individual light source lamps movable and adjustable in two directions perpendicular to their longitudinal direction and orthogonal to each other, the illumination state can be adjusted more delicately. As the above two directions, it is reasonable to take a direction perpendicular to the document conveyance surface and a direction parallel to it.
