The present invention relates to a method for producing cellulose fibers with improved dyeability. Specifically, monomers containing quaternary nitrogen atoms are polymerized within cellulose fibers,
This invention relates to a method for producing cellulose fibers with improved dyeability to anionic dyes. Cellulose fibers are often dyed with direct dyes or reactive dyes. It is said that the diffusion of these dyes from the dye bath into the fiber is based on the affinity of directness. The cause of this directness is not clear, but it is thought that hydrogen bonding makes a large contribution. Therefore,
Since the affinity of these dyes is generally low, it is necessary to use inorganic salts in combination during dyeing. However, even if an inorganic salt is used in combination, when the color becomes deep, a large amount of dye remains in the dye bath, which poses problems from the viewpoint of pollution prevention and economic efficiency. Furthermore, in the case of direct dyes, since the dye is dyed only by this direct property, it also has the disadvantage of poor wet fastness. In order to solve the above problems, the present inventors have arrived at the present invention as a result of intensive studies.
The present invention has the following configuration. That is, the present invention relates to a method for producing cellulose fibers with improved dyeability, which comprises reactively bonding to cellulose fibers a compound containing a quaternary amine in an amount of 15 milliequivalents/g fiber or more. It is. The present invention will be explained in detail below. According to the present invention, a durable quaternary nitrogen atom is introduced into the cellulose fiber, so that ionic bonding with an anionic dye becomes possible. Here, what is anionic dye?
Examples include acid dyes, reactive dyes, direct dyes, metal-containing acid dyes, vat dyes in which the lyuco compound is an anion, sulfur dyes, and the like. Direct dyes and reactive dyes have a sodium sulfonate group to give them water solubility, and in addition to the traditional affinity based on directness, the affinity based on ionic bonds acts, dramatically increasing dye usage efficiency. The effect is that there is almost no dye remaining in the dyebath, and the wet waxiness of direct dyes is also improved. Therefore, fixing processing becomes unnecessary. Conventionally, cellulose fibers could not be dyed with acid dyes or 1:2 type metal-containing dyes, but according to the present invention, they can be dyed vividly and firmly with such dyes. Although the present invention relates to the modification of cellulose fibers, it can also be applied to products mixed with other fibers. For example, nylon/cellulose fibers, acid dye-dyeable acrylic fibers, and cellulose fibers can be dyed with a single acid dye and can be obtained.
The effect is great. In addition, since polyester/cellulose fibers can be dyed with a combination of disperse dyes/acid dyes, there is an advantage that the alkali fixation step required in the case of conventional disperse dyes/reactive dyes can be omitted. Further, in the case of conventional disperse dyes/direct dyes, there were problems with brightness and firmness, but these problems can be solved by the present invention. Here, mixed use refers to mixed spinning, mixed weaving, mixed knitting, mixed twisting, etc. There are no restrictions on the materials that can be mixed. That is, nylon, polyester, acrylic, acetate, polyvinyl alcohol, vinyl chloride, wool, silk, etc. are all effective. Furthermore, the cellulose fibers referred to in the present invention include cotton, linen, rayon, polyester, and the like. The present invention will be explained in further detail. In general, ordinary vinyl monomers hardly polymerize within cellulose fibers, and as a result, no substantial dyeability improvement effect can be obtained. On the other hand, when a compound having an unsaturated double bond containing a quaternary amine according to the present invention is used, for example, a monomer, it can be easily polymerized and modified into a cellulose fiber capable of ionic bonding with an anionic dye. . The reason why this monomer easily polymerizes within cellulose fibers is not clear, but quaternary amines act as swelling agents for cellulose fibers and easily penetrate into the amorphous and intermediate regions inside cellulose fibers. it is conceivable that. It is considered that for this reason, the acid dye also diffuses into the interior of the fiber, resulting in good wet fastness. Furthermore, since the cellulose single fibers do not polymerize into resin, there is almost no hardening of the texture. This technique of treating fibers with a polymerizable monomer having swelling ability and polymerizing them within the fibers has not been previously known and is completely new. However, when a non-polymerizable compound is used as the quaternary amine, no substantial dyeability improvement effect is obtained, as shown in the comparative example below. In this case, although the cellulose fibers are swollen by the quaternary amine, it is thought that the quaternary amine is desorbed into the dye bath during dyeing and becomes tar with the anionic dye. However, the present invention is not restricted in any way by whether the above theory is correct or incorrect. The monomer having a quaternary amine-containing unsaturated double bond as used in the present invention refers to the following compounds. Examples include methyl chloride salt of dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate, dimethyl sulfate of dimethylaminoethyl acrylate, dimethyl sulfate of 2-vinylpyridine, and 2-hydroxy-3-methacryloxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride. These compounds are highly water-soluble and cannot penetrate dense synthetic fibers, and have very weak affinity for hydrophobic synthetic fibers, so they are hardly adsorbed onto synthetic fibers. , does not substantially polymerize on synthetic fibers. This makes it possible to selectively modify the dyeability of only cellulosic fibers in the case of mixed fiber products. The method of polymerizing these monomers into cellulose fibers is to immerse the knitted fabric in a pad bath containing an aqueous solution of the monomers and a polymerization initiator, then heat the polymerization reaction. , washing with water, and drying are preferred. The heating method is to use heated steam.
Desirable from the viewpoint of polymerization efficiency and whiteness maintenance, from 100℃
It is also desirable to have water vapor at 130℃. Steaming time is
The time is about 30 seconds to 30 minutes, but in general, taking into consideration the continuous process, about 1 minute to 5 minutes is desirable. The polymerization reaction can be carried out by dry heat at 100°C to 180°C, but the degree of yellowing is somewhat large and the polymerization efficiency is poor. The amount of quaternary amine introduced into the cellulose fiber must be at least 15 milliequivalents/Kg of fiber, and if it is less than this, it is difficult to substantially obtain dyeing properties due to ionic bonding with the anionic dye. Also, 1200 milliequivalent/
If it exceeds Kg/fiber, the strength will decrease significantly and yellowing will occur, which is not preferable. Especially from 50 milliequivalent/Kg/fiber
400 milliequivalent/Kg/fiber is desirable in terms of dyeability and strength retention. In the case of mixed use of cellulose fibers and other fibers, it goes without saying that the equivalent weight of quaternary amine in the cellulose fibers may be within the above-mentioned range. Here, the amount of quaternary amine in the dyed sheet is measured under the following conditions. Acid orange 0.1% solution (100% OWF) Acetic acid 1g / Bath ratio 1/1000 Temperature x time 98℃ x 6 hours After dyeing, determine the exhaustion rate from the colorimetry of the remaining bath and use the following formula to determine the quaternary amine equivalent seek. Quaternary amine equivalent [milliequivalent/Kg・fiber] 〓〓〓〓〓
=1000×E x /3.5 (E x : exhaustion rate (%)) When the monomer is polymerized within the cellulose fiber, a second monomer having copolymerization ability is copolymerized. I don't mind at all. Examples of such monomers include acrylamide, hydroxyethyl acrylate, 1,3,5-triacryloyl-hexahydro-s-triazine, and the like. As an initiator, ammonium persulfate, potassium persulfate,
Benzoyl peroxide, azobisisobutyronitrile, etc. are used, but water-soluble potassium persulfate and ammonium persulfate are the most common. Also,
If the water solubility of the quaternary amine-containing monomer is rather low, it may form a complex with an anionic initiator; however, in this case, a water-soluble cationic 2,2'- Azobis(2-aminopropane) hydrochloride may be used.
The amount of these initiators to be used is from 0.01 g/ to 10 g/, but from the viewpoint of stability of the pad bath, 1 g/ to 5 g/ is desirable. The form of the fibers during treatment may be cotton, thread, fabric, or the like. The present invention will be explained in detail with reference to Examples below. In addition, the washing firmness in the examples is JISL
−0844 MC-2 method, light fastness is JISL-1044
The color change and fading series were measured in accordance with JISL-0804. Example 1 Cotton plain woven fabric (basis weight 150 g/m 2 ) and rayon filament plain woven fabric (basis weight 180 g/m 2 ) are shown in Table-1.
After impregnating it with an aqueous solution of methyl chloride salt of dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate having the pad bath composition shown in , it was squeezed uniformly with a padder, the pick-up rate was adjusted to 80%, and then it was steamed at 100°C for 5 minutes. Ta. Sandetto G-900 1g/

Here, the amount of adhesion is expressed as a percentage of the difference between the sample weight before treatment and the sample weight after treatment with respect to the sample weight before treatment. However, all samples were heated at 100℃
After completely drying for 2 hours, it was left to cool in a desiccator. Further, Table 1 shows the quaternary amine equivalent measured by the Acid Orange staining method described in the detailed description of the invention and the L value (%) data obtained by staining with acid dye under the following conditions.
