Next, the operation of the conventional device will be explained. The vacuum switch tube is constructed as shown in Figure 2 (1), but the withstand voltage performance between the electrode (3) and the shield (5) may not be sufficient to use it as a high voltage switch as is. be. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the withstand voltage performance by conditioning this. A conventional device for performing such conditioning is as shown in FIG.
A voltage higher than the withstand voltage between the shield (4) and the polarization (3) is applied between the electrode (3) of the vacuum switch tube (1) and the shield (4) using the AC power supply (2). ,shield(
4) A vacuum arc is generated between the electrode (3) and the electrode (3). At this time, the surfaces of the shield (4) and the electrode (3) are cleaned by the arc heat, and the withstand voltage performance between the shield (4) and the electrode (3) is improved compared to before the vacuum arc was generated. The above operations complete the conditioning of the vacuum switch tube, but after the conditioning, a film of the material of the shield (4) is formed on the surface of the electrode (3), and a Vi electrode is formed on the surface of the shield (4). A film of material (3) is formed.

Next, the operation of this invention will be explained. Shield (4) from unipolar power supply (22) connected as shown in Figure 1
When a negative polarity voltage that exceeds the withstand voltage performance between the shield (4) and the electrode (3) is applied between the shield (4) and the electrode (3), a vacuum is created between the shield (4) and the electrode (3). Arc discharge occurs inside. The arc heat generated by this arc discharge in vacuum cleans the surfaces of the shield (4) and electrode (3), and the withstand voltage performance between the shield (4) and electrode (3) is improved compared to before the vacuum arc was generated. do. This allows the vacuum switch tube to be conditioned in the same manner as in conventional devices. In addition, in this invention, a single polarity power supply is used and a negative polarity voltage is applied to the shield side, so the shield (
A film of the material of the electrode (3) is not formed on the surface of the electrode (4), but a film of the material of the shield (4) is formed on the surface of the electrode (3). Therefore, the withstand voltage performance after conditioning between the shield (4) and the electrode (3) is

Since the tube is usually made of a material with high withstand voltage ability, a vacuum switch tube with high withstand voltage strength can be obtained.

In the above embodiment, the electrode (3) is grounded and the shield (
Although the configuration is explained in the case where a voltage of negative polarity is applied to 4), the configuration is not limited to this, but it can also be realized by grounding the shield (4) and applying a voltage of positive polarity to the electrode (3). .
