Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent decrease of electrolyte in a cell by using the cell with an impermeable sheet being pressured and pushed on the external face of a synthetic resin battery jar. CONSTITUTION:An enclosed lead storage battery 2 consisting of a battery jar made of synthetic resin such as ABS resin is located inside an apparatus 1. The enclosed lead storage battery 2 is used with an impermeable sheet 3 made of vinylidene chloride being pressured and pushed, with a pressure plate 4, on the external face of the battery jar. Thus decrease of electrolyte, caused by penetration of water vapor, can be prevented.

Problems that the invention aims to solve In sealed lead-acid batteries, the electrolyte inside the battery decreases during use or simply when stored. It was discovered that the reason for this is that the moisture inside passes through, and the object of the present invention is to prevent this moisture vapor from passing through.

Table 1 Effects of the Invention As mentioned above, by pressing a moisture-impermeable sheet onto the surface of the container of a sealed lead-acid battery, the electrolyte can be reduced by the permeation of water vapor without the need for a special coating on the outer surface of the container. It is extremely useful in that it can be easily applied to sealed lead-acid batteries currently in use.
