Ceramic heating elements such as spark plugs and burner igniters use conductive ceramics, which are made of silicon carbide, silicon nitride, or alumina as base materials, and are blended with a predetermined amount of conductive materials such as zirconia borite or zirconia carbide. . FIG. 1 shows a method of manufacturing a ceramic heating element used in a spark plug for an automobile engine, and FIG. 2 shows its construction. As shown in Figure 1, conductive ceramics 3
and the insulating ceramics 2 are formed by compressing the green compact 1 (α
) is formed. Next, these green compacts 1 are laminated,
Under pressure of about 3000 (ψ), 1960~2
The ceramic heating element 4 is sintered (A) at a temperature of 000 ('C) and further cut into a desired shape (CI L) to obtain the ceramic heating element 4 in the shape shown in (d). This heating element generates heat when energized. In order to obtain the necessary electrical resistance value, as shown in an enlarged view in FIG. is made of nickel or a nickel alloy, and is attached to the terminal part 6 of the heating element 4 by the metallization method. The heat resistance temperature of the metallized part 7α is around 6001?C), and when energized as shown in FIG. As can be seen from the temperature distribution measurement example, the temperature in this part needs to be below 600 CC. For this reason, the material 3 of the terminal part 6
In order to reduce the electrical resistance value and reduce the amount of heat generated by increasing the cross-sectional area of the The above example is an example of a ceramic heating element for an automobile engine plug, and this type of ceramic heating element 4 is used in an igniter 9 for a pilot burner 8 as shown in FIG. When applying, the electrode part will heat up to 1,000 C' due to radiant heat from the furnace.
(,: It is expected that it will rise to around 3. Therefore,
It is desirable to extend the terminal portion 6 to a position where it is not affected by radiation from within the furnace or by bonding molded ceramics. In order to equalize the electrical resistivity of the insulating material and the conductive material, pressure sintering is used to bond the insulating material and the conductive material. Therefore, it is desirable to adopt a method of extending the length by bonding conductive ceramics.

[Example 4] The four electric materials 3 of the ceramic heating element include SiC/ZrB2
Using a mixture with a weight ratio of 60/40, 120% of the conductive ceramics to be bonded contained 30% colloidal carbon (average particle size 0.3 [μm]) and 70% SiC (average particle size 3 [μm]). % of M was mixed, a binder was added at a ratio of 100% Metrose to 100% solid content, the water content was adjusted, and a green body dried after extrusion molding was used. The conductive material 3 of the ceramic heating element 4 and the green body produced by the above method are bonded together using a slurry of green before extrusion and dried, and then the flux layer 11 and the green body are bonded together by the method of Example 1. were reacted to fuse the two together.

(:'C), and baked for 2 hours to react and fuse the two together. The nitriding rate was 20%, the rest being residual silicon, and the St property was extremely good. However, the fusion strength by this method is low, and the Si 3N 4 layer formed by reaction is 9
Since it oxidizes and decomposes at temperatures above 00C''C), it has a low heat resistance temperature, but when used at temperatures below 900C''C'3, there is no problem with this method.
