偏向器と、偏向された光を媒体上に等速度走査さ
せるf−θレンズと、前記f−θレンズを保持す
るレンズ保持部材とを備えた光走査装置であつて
、前記レンズ保持部材は、前記回転偏向器による
光走査平面と交差する部分の少なくとも一方が開
放状態で、且つ前記f−θレンズの光走査平面と
交差する部分以外を保持して成ると共に、前記発
光源は、その光軸が前記レンズ保持部材の開口部
を通過するように配置されて成ることを特徴とす
