Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a low-cost printer having high power consumption and reduced noise by printing dot-composed characters using thin rubber-like sheets and ink rollers. CONSTITUTION:A hammer 1 having a pointed tip, a magnet 2 which drives the hammer, a platen 3, printing paper 4, a thin rubber-like sheet 5, a frame 6 which supports the sheet 5 and an ink roller 7 for applying ink on the surface of the sheet 5 are provided. The sheet 5, supported by the frame 6, rotates, and has ink applied on the almost entire surface by the ink roll 7. If the magnet 2 is energized, the hammer 1 passes through a clearance of the frame 6, pushing out the sheet 5. The sheet 5, of a thin rubber-like quality, allows only the tip form of the hammer to be extruded and subsequently the hammer 1 to run into the platen 3 holding the sheet 5 and the printing paper 4. At that time, ink on the sheet 5 is transferred to the printing paper 4 in the form almost resembling the hammer tip, i.e. a point, thus printing a single dot.

[Prior Art] Conventionally, printers that print characters on printing paper drive a needle-shaped pin with an electromagnet, etc., and the movement causes it to collide with the printing paper via an ink ribbon, printing dots on the printing paper, and then Generally, characters are printed using a structure of dots. Since these types of printers use ink ribbons, the ink that has permeated into the ink ribbon must be transferred to the printing paper, so a needle-shaped pin to print dots has to be used with a very large amount of energy. and need to be printed,
Power consumption was increasing. Also, the sound of the paper colliding with the printing paper became louder, resulting in a very loud noise. Furthermore, a mechanism for feeding the ink ribbon was required, which was quite expensive in terms of cost.

Ink from an ink roller is applied to a sheet, and a hammer with a dot-forming tip is used to push out the sheet and print dots on printing paper. It is possible to use an ink roll to create a dot printer, and for this purpose, It is possible to provide a printer that requires less printing energy, has less extinguishing power, makes less noise, and is inexpensive.

When the electromagnet 2 is energized, the hammer 1 is driven in the direction of arrow 8. Hammer 1 passes through the gap in frame 6 and pushes sheet 5. Since the sheet 5 is in the form of a thin film and made of rubber, only the tip of the hammer is pushed out, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. The hammer 1 collides with the platen 3 while sandwiching the sheet 5 and printing paper 4. At this time, the ink on sheet 5 is

According to the present invention, ink is applied to the surface of a thin, rubber-like sheet, the sheet is stretched from the inside with a dotted tip at the tip, and the ink applied to the sheet is printed in the shape of the tip of a hammer. Since the structure is such that it is transferred onto paper, the energy required for transfer is very small.Furthermore, since there is a rubber sheet in between, the noise caused by collisions during printing is very low.

In addition, since the dot printer is realized using an ink roll, there is no need for a complicated feeding mechanism such as an ink ribbon, and the ink roll itself is inexpensive, making it a very inexpensive printer. Transferring ink to printing paper provides much better print clarity and quality than transferring ink to printing paper via an ink ribbon.
