Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a water heater having an air heating function, by taking out part feed air for a burner, which is to be fed to the outer space of a flame cylinder for use of a cooling air, and by utilizing it for air heating. CONSTITUTION:When a water heater is turned ON, a burner 5 starts combustion, and hot air is supplied from a hot-water pipe 24. At that time, a hot-air damper 42 wholly closes a hot-air opening 40, while cooling controlling dampers 20 and 21 are in open state. The air getting into a cooling air passage 18 from an air duct 37 cools a flame cylinder 7, and at the same time the air itself is heated to the contrary, joining to the gas in an exhaust gas controlling duct 12 through the outer space around a heat exchanger 9. In the cold season such as winter for example, the cooling controlling dampers 20 and 21 are to be kept closed or nearly kept closed, while the hot-air damper 42 is to be kept opened, by manual operation at the time a water supplying operation is started. In such a manner, the air properly heated in the cooling air passage 18 is forcedly discharged to the under space of a boiler body 1 as hot air from the hot-air opening 40 through a louver 47.

Further, the opening and closing of the cooling control damper 20.21 and the hot air damper 42 can also be performed by electrical control means as shown in FIG. That is, the temperature information signal detected by the thermometer 51 is processed by the control circuit 52 to control opening and closing of the hot air damper 42 and the cooling control damper 20. According to this, since the thermistor 51 is provided, operation by automatic hot air heating is possible. This control circuit 52 can also control the driving of an electromagnetic pump 53 that supplies fuel.

As explained above, according to the hot water heater having the hot air heating function of the present invention, a part of the amount of air blown to the burner is supplied to the outer periphery of the combustion chamber and used as cooling air. Since the water is extracted and used for hot air heating, a water heater with hot air heating function can be obtained without adding a new blower or heating heat exchanger.
