【考案の詳細な説明】
本考案は吸収性およびドライタツチ性に優れた
吸収性物品に関する。
生理用ナプキンや紙おむつなどに用いられる吸
収性物品は、吸収体とこの吸収体の使用面側を被
う水透過性シートと、吸収体の非使用面側を被覆
して吸収物の漏れを防止する防漏シートから基本
的に構成される。そして、吸収体としては綿状パ
ルプ、薄葉紙などが用いられており、最近、2枚
の水透過性シートの間に吸水性ポリマーを挾持し
てなる吸水性ポリマーシートも使用されている。
吸水性ポリマーシートは、一般には綿状パルプ、
薄葉紙などの主吸収体の下側に用いられている。
このように吸収体の上部に綿状パルプ、薄葉紙を
使用すれば吸液時間は早いが、加圧時の逆戻り量
が多くドライタツチ性が非常に悪いという欠点が
あつた。
一方、吸水性ポリマーシートを主吸収体の上部
に配設した場合は、逆戻り量が少なくドライタツ
チ性に優れているが、吸液時間、特に断続吸液時
間が遅いという欠点があつた。
本考案は、吸収体の構成を改良することによ
り、従来は相反する特性であると考えられていた
吸液時間と逆戻り量を同時に満足する吸収性物品
を提供することを目的とする。
すなわち、本考案の吸収性物品は、少なくとも
使用面が水透過性シートで被われ、非使用面が防
漏シートで被覆され、その内部に吸収体を含む吸
収性物品において、前記吸収体として、(A)綿状パ
ルプ、薄葉紙、吸水性ポリマーシートの群から選
ばれる少なくとも一種の下部吸収体の上に、(B)吸
水性ポリマー、綿状パルプおよび熱融着性繊維ま
たは粉末を2枚の水透過性シートの間に充填し加
熱圧着してなる上部吸収体を積層した複層吸収体
が用いられ、且つ、この複層吸収体の上部吸収体
が使用面側となるように配設され、前記上部吸収
体中の吸水性ポリマーが、下部吸収体側に偏在し
ていることを特徴とする。
第1図は本考案の吸収性物品を生理用ナプキン
に応用した場合の実施例を示す斜視切断図であ
り、下部吸収体10の上に上部吸収体12が配設
されて吸収体11を形成し、上部吸収体12側が
使用面となる。吸収体の非使用面側および側面に
は防漏シート14が被い、全体が水透過性シート
16で被包されている。
第2図は、上部吸収体12の構成例を示す断面
図であり、吸水性ポリマー20は一面側(18
側)に偏在している。第2図に示した上部吸収体
は、水透過性シート上に綿状パルプと熱融着性繊
維または粉末とを混合したものを積層してその上
に吸水性ポリマーを散布させるか、あるいは、水
透過性シート上に吸水性ポリマーを散布したのち
上記混合物を積層し、ついで水透過性シートを重
ねて加熱圧着することにより得られる。この偏在
した上部吸収体は、偏在側を下部吸収体と当接し
て積層させ、第3図に吸収体11の断面図を示す
ように、偏在側(18側)を下部吸収体12に当接
して複層吸収体11とすることが、吸液時間およ
び逆戻り量の点で必要である。
上部吸収体12の水透過性シート18,18′
としては、不織布、薄葉紙などが用いられ、坪量
8〜50g/m2のものが適当である。綿状パルプは
一般に0.06〜0.15g/cm3の密度のものが用いら
れ、坪量が10〜180g/m2となるように充填され
る。熱融着性繊維または粉末としては融点が110
〜160℃程度のものが適当であり、たとえばポリ
エチレン粉末などが例示される。熱融着性繊維ま
たは粉末は綿状パルプの5〜50wt%の量で充填
するのが適当である。吸水性ポリマーは坪量5〜
50g/m2となるように充填するのが適当であり、
一般的には粒度20〜80メツシユのものが用いられ
る。吸水性ポリマーの具体例としては、アクリル
酸重合体ナトリウム塩、澱粉−アクリルグラフト
共重合体、アクリル酸エステル重合体、澱粉−ア
クリルアミドアクリル酸ナトリウム共重合体、交
差結合ナトリウムカルボキシメチルセルロース、
ナトリウムカルボキシメチルセルロース、ナトリ
ウムカルボキシメチルセルロースなどのカルボキ
シル基を有する吸水性重合体が例示できる。
このようにして上部吸収体は通常1〜5mm程度
の厚さに形成される。
下部吸収体10は、綿状パルプ、薄葉紙または
吸水性ポリマーシート単独であるいはこれらを併
用して構成され、厚さ1〜10mm程度に積層するの
が適当である。
水透過性シート16および防漏シート14とし
ては従来から知られているものがいずれも用いら
れ、水透過性シートとしては不織布などが、ま
た、防漏シートとしてはサイズ加工をした防水
紙、ポリエチレンラミネート紙、ポリビニルアル
コールなどの合成樹脂フイルムなどが用いられ
る。また、吸収体を防漏シートと水透過性シート
とで別途被覆する代りに、特開昭55−91354号公
報や実開昭48−97994号公報に記載されているよ
うに、透過面を残して水透過性シートをポリエチ
レンフイルムなどの水不透性材料で被覆した複合
シートで、水透過性シートの透過面が吸収体の吸
収面(使用面)に当接するように吸収体を被包し
てもよい。
本考案の吸収性物品によれば、従来の吸収体の
上に、吸水性ポリマー、綿状パルプおよび熱融着
性材料を含む吸収体を積層することにより、吸液
時間と逆戻り量の双方の要求を満足することがで
きる。
実験例
2枚の24g/m2の薄葉紙の間に吸水性ポリマー
を30g/m2で挾持した吸水性ポリマーシートの上
に坪量19g/m2の薄葉紙5枚を重ね、さらにその
上に密度0.06g/cm3、坪量180g/m2の綿状パル
プを重ね、最後に薄葉紙(15g/m2)を重ねて下
部吸収体とした。
坪量15g/m2の2枚の薄葉紙の間に、綿状パル
プ(坪量:188g/m2、密度0.06g/cm3)、ポリエ
チレン粉末(12g/m2)〔三井石油化学製Swp〕
および吸水性ポリマー(30g/m2)を充填し、加
熱圧着して2mm厚の上部吸収体を得た。この際、
ポリマーを均一に分散させたものと一面側に偏在
したものを作製した。なお、以上において吸水性
ポリマーとしては、アクリル酸重合体ナトリウム
塩を用いた。
これらの吸収体を用いて以下のように吸収体を
構成し、さらにその上にレーヨン綿層を設け、透
過面を残してポリエチレンフイルムをラミネート
した複合シートで生理用ナプキンを作成し、これ
らについて吸液時間および逆戻り量を試験し、結
果を第1表に示した。
(1) 比較例1
下部吸収体のみ。
(2) 比較例2
下部吸収体の上に、吸水性ポリマーシートを
配設した。
(3) 比較例3
下部吸収体の上に、ポリマーを均一に分散さ
せた上部吸収体を重ねた。
(4) 比較例4
下部吸収体の上に、ポリマーを偏在させた上
部吸収体を、偏在側が上方にくるように重ね
た。
(5) 本考案品1
下部吸収体の上に、ポリマーを偏在させた上
部吸収体を、偏在側が下方にきて下部吸収体と
当接するように重ねた。
断続吸液時間
水平においたナプキン上に、中央に孔があり、
この孔の部分には内径23.8mmの円筒が接合されて
いる鉄板をのせ、ナプキンに8g/cm2の圧力がか
かるようにする。ついで、円筒に模擬経血2mlを
注入してナプキンに吸収させ、2分間放置後同様
に2mlをナプキンに吸収させ、さらに2分後に6
mlを注入し、この注入時から液がすべてナプキン
に吸収されるまでの時間を断続吸収時間とする。
吸液時間
模擬経血10mlを一気に注入する他は上記と同様
にして吸収時間を測定する。
逆戻り量
上記の吸液時間の測定に供したナプキンの上
に、薄葉紙20枚を2分後に重ね、その上から均一
に50g/cm2の圧力をかけて2分間放置し、その後
吸水紙側に逆戻りした液量を測定する。
