In general, an escalator consists of a step 1 for carrying passengers, and balustrades 2 erected on both sides of the step, as shown in Figures 1 and 2.
and a handrail (movable handrail) 3 that is attached to the handrail 2 and moved in synchronization with step 1, and the handrail 2, which is a stationary body, has a handrail frame 4 and an outer sleeve deck. 5, a ledge 6, a skirt guard 7, a parapet panel 8, etc. In order to improve safety and design, the handrail 2 is generally provided within the handrail frame 4 so that the lamp 9 is protected by a cover 10, or has a structure in which pillars 11 are provided to support the handrail frame 4. In order to give a sense of transparency and improve the design effect, the structure is such that the rigidity of the handrail panel 8 is increased to support the handrail frame 4 without providing the pillars 11.

Here, the handrail frame 4 of the conventional escalator balustrade 2 was manufactured by aluminum extrusion molding to obtain the desired cross-sectional shape. Now, the idea of manufacturing the handrail frame 4 using a thin plate has become widespread. However, it is difficult to form a handrail frame 4 with a cross-sectional shape similar to a conventional aluminum extrusion molded product using a thin plate, requiring fairly complicated processing, resulting in high costs, and the wall thickness is thin. There were problems in that it had low rigidity and was easily deformed by external force, making it difficult to maintain its function as a handrail frame in terms of strength.

In other words, in order to achieve the above object, the escalator balustrade of the present invention has a balustrade panel erected on both sides of the step for carrying passengers, and a handrail frame that guides and supports the handrail along the outer periphery of the balustrade panel. In an escalator railing provided over the entire length between the handrail inlets on the upper floor side and the lower floor side, the handrail frame is connected to an upper handrail frame formed of a thin plate and having a substantially U-shaped cross section on the lower side. In addition to having a split structure with the main handrail frame that opens, the frame is fitted inside the main handrail frame and fixed by sandwiching the upper end of the handrail panel via a gasket, which also serves as reinforcement. It is characterized in that it is provided and configured.

With this configuration, the handrail frame of the parapet is divided into an upper handrail frame with a roughly U-shaped cross section and a main handrail frame with an opening on the bottom, making it easy to use without complicated processing using thin plates. This eliminates the problem of conventional aluminum extrusion products, where the surface is easily scratched and the appearance deteriorates, and the handrail frame, which is made of a thin plate, has low rigidity and is resistant to external forces. However, the thick frame was fitted inside the main handrail frame to serve as reinforcement, and the frame was fixed by inserting it into the upper end of the handrail panel through the packing. Therefore, the handrail frame can maintain high strength, maintain a stable state without easily deforming, and perform the same function as a conventional aluminum handrail frame. .

An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIG. Note that FIG. 3 is an enlarged view of the main part of the escalator's handrail, and the rest of the structure is the same as that of FIGS. 1 and 2, so illustration thereof is omitted. In the figure, 12 is a balustrade, 13 is a handrail, 14 is a handrail frame of the balustrade 12, 15 is a balustrade panel, 16 is a lighting lamp, 17 is a lamp cover, and the handrail frame 14 is the balustrade panel 1.
As shown in FIG. 1, the handrail 13 is guided and supported along the outer periphery of the escalator, and is disposed along the entire length between the upper south side inlet part A of the escalator and the same inlet part on the lower floor side (not shown). There is. This handrail frame 14 is not made of a conventional aluminum extrusion molded product, but is made of a thin plate as shown. In other words, this handrail frame 14 has a divided structure into an upper handrail frame 14A having a substantially U-shaped cross section and a main handrail frame 14B having a roughly lip groove-shaped cross section opening downward, so that it can be easily formed from a thin plate. Then, the two are joined together as shown in the figure and connected by appropriate means. In addition, the handrail frame 14 made of such a thin plate has a drawback that it has low rigidity and is easily deformed by external force because of its thin wall thickness. Although some parts have been omitted, a frame 18 is fitted to the thick wall that also serves as reinforcement. In this installation, the frame 18 is fixed to each other by sandwiching the upper end portion of the balustrade panel 15 via a gasket 19 having a hat-shaped cross section.

Note that the above-mentioned balustrade panel 15 is made of rigid tempered glass with an appropriate thickness, but if thin plate glass is used, pillars 20 are erected on the outside. Further, when the lamp 16 is not required, a flat back cover 21 is provided in place of the lamp cover 17. These lamp cover 17 and back cover 21 are engaged with and attached to a bracket (not shown) provided within the main handrail frame 14B of the handrail frame 14.

With the above-described configuration, the handrail frame 14 of the balustrade 12 has a divided structure into an upper handrail frame 14A having a substantially U-shaped cross section and a main handrail frame 14B having a substantially lip groove-shaped cross section opening downward. It is said that
It can be manufactured by simple molding using thin plates without complicated processing, and it solves the problems of conventional aluminum extrusion molded products, where the surface is easily scratched and the appearance is poor. . Furthermore, the handrail frame 14 made of a thin plate has low rigidity and is easily deformed by external force, but a thick frame 18 that also serves as reinforcement is fitted to the inside of the main handrail frame 14B.
8 is sandwiched and fixed to the upper end of the handrail panel 15 through the packing 19, so that the handrail frame 14 can maintain high strength and maintain a stable state without being easily deformed. , it will be able to function as a handrail frame similar to conventional aluminum ones.

As explained above, in the escalator balustrade of the present invention, the handrail frame can be easily formed using a thin plate, and the frame can be fitted into the handrail frame made of the thin plate to serve as reinforcement. Since it is fixed to the frame, it is possible to maintain a high level of strength, and it is possible to create an excellent frame that can exhibit the same photographic performance as a conventional aluminum handrail frame.
