Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform the development of a sensitive material and the diffusion transfer to a transfer sheet easily and efficiently by backing the sensitive material having a diffusion transfer type heat developed photosensitive layer and a transfer sheet which is brought into contact with the sensitive material with a conductive layer, and flowing a current to the conductive layers and generating heat. CONSTITUTION:A heat processing control part 10 flows currents to a carry-in roller 6 and a carry-out rollers 7 through cords 8 and 9 when the carry-in roller 6 and carry-out roller 7 stop while clamping the head and tail ends of the composite body of the sensitive material 1 and transfer sheet 2. The current value and feed time are calculated previously from the resistance value of a conductive layers with which the sensitive material 1 or transfer sheet 2 is backed, so the sensitive material 1 or transfer sheet 2 generate heat and rise in temperature instantaneously to necessary temperature. Consequently, an exposed part of the sensitive material 1 is developed thermally and a silver image appears; and diffusive dye is formed corresponding to the image and transferred to the transfer sheet 3 which contacts the sensitive material 1.

Conventionally, as a heat developing means for heat-developable photosensitive materials used in dry silver, etc., the photosensitive material is lined with a conductive layer, and the photosensitive material itself generates heat by passing an electric current through the conductive layer. No. 5-22737) was known. This heat treatment method was superior to heat treatment methods using heaters in that it could uniformly heat the photosensitive material, but with heat-developable photosensitive materials such as dry silver, the photosensitive material itself develops color to express the image. However, there is a problem that the color may change due to subsequent heat, and the storage stability of one image is poor.

In addition, in the above embodiment, the heat treatment section 5 includes the carry-in and carry-out rollers 6.
The current from the heat treatment control unit 10 is passed through the conductive layer of the photosensitive material 1 through the lower roller 7 to generate heat, and the current is passed through the conductive layer of the transfer sheet 2 through the upper roller to generate heat. However, it goes without saying that it is also possible to generate heat by passing a current through the conductive layers of both the photosensitive material 1 and the transfer sheet 2 through the upper and lower rollers. The contact roller constituting the contact section 4 that brings the transfer sheet 2 into close contact with the material 1 has a built-in heater, or a separate preheating means is provided before supplying the transfer sheet 9 to the contact section 4 to heat the transfer sheet 2 to 60 to 60 IQ.
If it is possible to heat the film to a constant temperature within the range of Q'C, it is possible to further improve the degree of adhesion between the photosensitive material 1 and the transfer sheet 2.

Therefore, before the exposed photosensitive material 1 reaches the contact area 4, its front and rear ends are first sandwiched between the worker roller 6 and the IM exit roller rough in the heat treatment section 5a, and the heat treatment control section 10 is operated to control the conductivity of the exposed photosensitive material 1. A current flows through the layer to generate heat, and after development, the layer is supplied to the contact area 4. The transfer sheet 2 is supplied to the contact portion 4 through the guide portion 3 and is brought into close contact with the photosensitive material 1. The composite of the photosensitive material 1 and the transfer sheet 2 is in the contact area 4
After passing through the transfer sheet 2, the front and rear ends are held between the loading and unloading rollers 6 and 7 of the heat treatment section 5a configured in the same manner as described above, and the heat treatment control section 10 is operated to generate heat again, and the developed image dye is transferred to the transfer sheet 2. is diffusely transferred to. In this case, since the heat treatment sections for development and diffusion transfer are independent, the heating temperature in the transfer heat treatment section 5b is kept below the heating temperature in the development heat treatment section 5a to prevent development of the photosensitive material 1 from proceeding during transfer. It is important to do so.

As described above, the development and transfer device according to the present invention has a diffusion transfer type heat-developable photosensitive layer that thermally develops a latent image formed by exposure and stores the resulting image dye in the form of a non-photosensitive transfer sheet. Development and diffusion transfer to a transfer sheet that is in close contact with the photosensitive material are characterized by the provision of a heat treatment means that generates heat by passing an electric current through the conductive layer that lines the photosensitive material and the transfer sheet. Therefore, it is possible to generate heat uniformly over the entire surface of the photosensitive material and the transfer sheet, and the development and transfer can be carried out simply and efficiently.
