複数個のボルト11によりカラー12を介してケ
ース7に取付けてある。13は防火カバー3の内
側に形成された空気層である。空気層13内に断
熱材を充填することもできる。

ポンプ部内の複数のポンプケース7,7の外周部
間にダイヤフラム5の外周部をその上下のガスケ
ツト6を介して挟圧したものにおいて、ダイヤフ
ラム5及びガスケツト6の外周露出部を含むポン
プ部全体に、空気層13を介して上開きカツプ状
のプレス成形された防火カバー3を下側から嵌合
固定してダイヤフラム露出部のやや上方へ延長
し、上記防火カバー3の底面より上方の側壁にポ
ンプ部2へ至る燃料入口管挿通孔10を設けて、
その下方を燃料受皿としているので次のような特
殊な効果が得られるのである。即ちダイヤフラム
式キヤブレターではキヤブレター本体1と上端ポ
ンプケース7の間及び各ポンプケース7,7間の
ダイヤフラム5(シール材)の部方から燃料が漏
れやすいため、万一燃料が漏れ出してもその燃料
を確実に捕獲し、かつエンジンルーム内で火災が
発生した場合でも火災がシール材露出部に絶対に
到達しないように配慮する必要性が特に大きいの
であるが、防火カバー3が底部が完全に閉じた上
開きカツプ状のプレス成形品であり、燃料入口管
挿通孔10も底面より上方に設けてあるため、孔
10の下側には完全に閉じた漏洩燃料受皿がで
き、燃料の滴下を確実に防止することができる。
しかも防火カバー3を複な形状のポンプ部2の輪
郭に沿う形状に作りやすく、防火カバー3を含む
ポンプ部2が嵩張らず、又防火カバー3が軽量安
価に仕上る。防火カバー3がダイヤフラム5の周
縁露出部を覆い隠すため外観も向上する。又防火
カバー3は上端のみ開放し、か上端のダイヤフラ
ム5より上方へ延長しているため、上昇する火災
がガスケツト6部分に下側から到達しないことは
もちろん、防火カバー3内の空気層13の空気は
静止してるので火災が防火カバー3の上端開口部
から下向きに空気層13内に侵入することがな
い。このためガスケツト6などのシール材露出部
を火災から確実に遮断して保護することができ、
シール材の変質や焼損を可及的に防止すことがで
きる。又防火カバー3は上端が開放しているため
外部の温度が上昇しても空気層13内の空気の膨
張を逃がすことができ、ガスケツト6等に外部か
ら高圧を及ぼすことによる不具合は生じない。
