Abstract

PURPOSE:To read out a spare track in the minimum processing time with an optical disk device by providing a memory and an optical disk controller to an optical disk controller. CONSTITUTION:An optical disk controller reads previously a physical address ID out of a spare track of an optical disk device 6. The address ID shows a specific sector of a data track to which the relevant data corresponds. Then the address ID is held by a memory 5. If no data is detected on the data track when a reading action is carried out, the ID of the spare track of the device 6 held previously by the memory 5 is searched. The corresponding track is sought when a seeking action is through with the head of the spare track of the device 6. Then the data on the spare track of the device 6 is read out.

することにより直接予備トラックのデータを読出すこと
