Since the sock fabric knitted by conventional double-cylinder sock knitting machines (rib knitters) is continuously knitted, it must be divided into units and then transferred to the step of overlocking the open toe portion. This dividing work can be done manually by cutting and removing a part of the knitting yarn in the section of the long sock fabric that is removed from the sock knitting machine, or by using a machine attached to the double cylinder sock knitting machine. Remove the winding roll and install a new blower.
A separator device is used that removes the knitting yarn from the needle at the knitting opening of the cylinder and separates it using the suction force of air. However, the former is a work that is tiring for the eyes, has low work efficiency, and often results in defective products due to the scissors being accidentally inserted in a position other than the thread removal position, while the latter requires the needle or slider to be removed due to the thread being removed. In addition, there is a risk that the texture of the knitted fabric may be impaired because a certain tension is not applied to the knitted fabric by the take-up roll.
