Description

【発明の詳现な説明】 本発明は、滅菌され充填されたフランゞ付きの
容噚がこのフランゞに固定された蓋郚により熱封
止法により閉鎖される包装のための方法および装
眮に関する。
プラスチツク材料を封止するための公知の぀
の熱封止装眮は、加熱された流䜓であり、熱䌝導
率が䜎い材料の䜓郚ずこの䌝い熱䌝導率の䜓郚に
圢成された熱亀換甚流䜓路ず連通する熱䌝導率の
高い材料の垯郚ずを含む熱封止郚材を䜿甚する。
この公知の構造においおは堅固な圧力付䞎芁玠を
䜿甚し、埓぀お封止されるべき䞍芏則又は䞍均等
な圢態の面郚に察し均䞀な封止圧力および枩床を
付䞎するためにはあたり䜿甚されない。米囜特蚱
4062718号はこの公知の構造の代衚䟋である。
カバヌを容噚に封止するための別の公䜎構造の
堎合は、容噚の蓋郚に熱ず圧力を䞎えるこずによ
りこの蓋郚を容噚のフランゞ郚に封止するよう構
成された堅固な芁玠を甚い、容噚のフランゞ郚が
静眮する堅固な傟斜した圧瞮可胜な郚材ず協働す
るよう構成されおいる。この公知の構成においお
は、匟力性のある圧瞮可胜な芁玠の封止面の傟斜
郚分に察しおは少くずも郚分的にうたく行くが、
封止面党䜓に぀いおは封止圧力および枩床が均等
に行きわたらない。カナダ囜特蚱第957662号がこ
の公知の装眮の代衚䟋である。
本発明の䞀実斜䟋によれば、加熱された液䜓で
充填され内郚に圢成された熱亀換路を有する封止
ブロツクを含む加熱された匟力性を有する圧力付
䞎装眮より蓋郚に察する圧力および熱の均䞀な付
䞎が行われるようにフランゞ付き容噚のフランゞ
郚に察しお蓋郚が封止され、前蚘熱亀換路は、封
止ブロツクの衚面に圢成された溝ず、この溝に察
しお重合しお液密に倖方に匵出した関係に前蚘封
止ブロツクに固蚭された可撓性のある膜ずを有す
る。
前蚘の匟力性のある膜は蓋郚ず抌圧しお熱亀換
を行う接觊関係におかれるため、この膜は、この
膜が可撓性に富みこのため封止面の圢態ず合臎で
きるこずにより、蓋郚の圢態即ち衚面における䞍
芏則性の劂䜕に拘わらず、あるいは容噚のフラン
ゞ郚の協働する封止面の劂䜕に拘わりなく蓋郚の
封止面党䜓にわた぀お係合しお均等な圧力を䞎え
る。
本発明の䞀実斜䟋によれば、封止ブロツクに圢
成された熱亀換路内に配された液䜓は封止ブロツ
ク内に埋蚭されたヒヌタ装眮によ぀お加熱するこ
ずができる。この構成においおは、熱䌝達路を封
止ブロツク内に圢成し前蚘溝ず連通関係に構成し
お、可撓性の報による封止圧力の付䞎が流䜓の撹
拌䜜甚を生じ、以぀お前蚘膜ず封止操䜜䞭熱を䞎
えた流䜓がヒヌタ装眮に隣接する区域に向぀お熱
䌝達路内で埪環され埗、その結果流䜓の枩床が各
封止工皋の実斜により流䜓に察する機械的䜜甚お
よび流動䜜甚の助けによ぀お自動的に調節される
ようになる。
本発明の別の実斜䟋においおは、別個の液䜓貯
溜郚から液䜓が䟛絊される内郚に圢成された熱亀
換路を有する封止䜜甚ブロツクず、可撓性のある
管路を介する制埡されたヒヌタ装眮ずを䜿甚す
る。
円圢状のフランゞ付き容噚を封止するための本
発明の望たしい䞀実斜䟋によれば、封止䜜甚ブロ
ツクに圢成された溝は円圢であり、柔軟性に富む
封止膜を貫通する耇数個のねじにより封止䜜甚ブ
ロツクに固定された察の同心状のリングず、内
郚に封止甚溝が圢成された封止䜜甚ブロツの衚面
ずの間に封止膜を把持するように前蚘の同心状リ
ングにより封止䜜甚ブロツクに圢成された溝に察
しお重合しお流䜓密の関係に前蚘の柔軟性に富む
膜が固定される。この封止甚膜は、ドヌナツツ圢
の環状構造又はその䞋郚が字圢の断面圢状であ
る環状構造を圢成するように、緊締リング間に配
されるその封止郚分が前蚘封止䜜甚ブロツクから
突出するような圢状であるこずが望たしい。必芁
に応じお、この膜は封止面の圢状ず緊密に合臎す
るように特別に成圢するこずもできる。
以䞋本発明を添付図面に瀺す実斜䟋により説明
する。
第図においお、包装装眮は党䜓的に番号で
瀺され、倖偎の倧気からその内郚を封止しお装眮
の内偎の倧気条件を滅菌し䞍掻性に維持するこず
を可胜にするず云う特城である封止を可胜にする
フヌド即ちシナラりドによ぀お完党に包囲されお
いる。装眮の内偎にはコツプ搬送装眮が配眮さ
れ、これは䞀緒にチ゚ヌンに接続されお無端ベル
トを圢成する䞀連の開口キダリアプレヌトからな
る。この開口キダリアプレヌトは予め圢成された
コツプの圢態ず䞀臎する圢状を有する開口を有
し、このコツプはこのプレヌトを貫通しおプレヌ
トの成圢された面ず䞀臎するコツプ封止フランゞ
で保持される。コツプ搬送装眮は䞀連の駆動案
内スプロケツトおよびの呚囲を通過
し、その結果コツプ搬送装眮はコツプを以䞋に述
べる劂き䞀連の機械操䜜を受けるように移動させ
る。
予め成圢されたコツプの䟛絊はで瀺す劂く行
われ、このコツプは、コツプを案内スプロケツト
の呚囲でほが䞋方向に搬送するコツプ搬送装眮
のキダリアプレヌトの開口に確実に送蟌たれる。
コツプは連続的にスプロケツトの呚囲で䞋方に
向けお殺菌剀タンク内に保持された液䜓殺菌剀
の貯溜郚の衚面䞋に送られる。コツプ搬送装
眮がスプロケツトの呚囲を移動するに䌎い、コ
ツプは倒眮䜍眮に反転される。コツプリテヌナレ
ヌルは装眮のこの郚分のコツプ移動路に沿぀お
配眮され、重力の䜜甚により倒眮された状態にあ
る間開口キダリアプレヌトからコツプが萜䞋しな
いようにする。殺菌剀タンク即ち貯溜郚内のコツ
プの移動構成は、コツプが完党に殺菌剀液が溢れ
おコツプから空気が党く払拭されおコツプの党お
の内衚面に液䜓が確実に接觊するようにな぀おい
る。タンクの内の殺菌剀は60℃乃至100℃の範囲
内の枩床に維持され、殺菌剀䞭を通過する速床は
液䞭にコツプが乃至60秒間浞挬された状態を維
持する劂きものずする。新鮮な殺菌剀は装眮の倖
郚の䟛絊源図瀺せずからタンクに䟛絊さ
れ、殺菌剀は装眮タンクから連続的に濟過装眮
および加熱装眮図瀺せずを介しお埪環されお
その枩床および枅浄床を維持する。
殺菌剀济に続いお、コツプは殺菌剀タンクから
案内スプロケツトの呚囲を䞊向きに移動し、次
に駆動スプロケツトに察し略々氎平方向にな
る。装眮における移動過皋のこの郚䜍にある間倒
立させられたコツプから殺菌剀が流出する。装眮
の内偎の雰囲気は党量窒玠の劂き䞍掻性の滅菌ガ
スである。必芁に応じお、液䜓状の殺菌剀の残存
滎をコツプから払拭するため、移動のこの過皋に
おいお䞍掻性滅菌ガスの噎流をコツプの内偎に指
向させおもよい。このようなガスの噎流をコ
ツプの封止瞁郚即ちフランゞ郚に察しお指向させ
おこの封止域が也燥しお埌の封止操䜜を劚げるお
それのある液が払拭されるこずを確保するこずも
できる。
次に、コツプ搬送装眮はスプロケツトの呚囲
を移動しおコツプを盎立䜍眮に回転し、次に充填
ステヌシペンに送る。ここで、充填ノズル
が蚈量された食品を各コツプに䟛絊し、ノズル
は予め滅菌凊理をした食品を管路により
䟛絊される。充填ステヌシペンずその関連す
る郚分は食品をはね飛ばすこずなく、又食品の粒
子又は液滎でコツプの封止フランゞ即ち瞁郚を汚
すこずなくコツプ内に䟛絊するよう構成されおい
る。
次にコツプ搬送装眮は、党䜓的にで瀺され
る封止䜜甚ステヌシペンにコツプを搬送する。垯
状の蓋材料は殺菌剀济䞭を通過しコツプ
のフランゞ郚の略々真䞊に送られる。熱封止芁玠
を䜜動させるシヌラはこの蓋材料を充填
枈みのコツプの頂郚に䟛絊し、熱ず圧力の䜜甚に
よ぀おこの頂郚に蓋材を封止する。封止芁玠
の埀埩運動を行う垂盎方向運動は、封止芁玠を装
眮の内偎の滅菌した䞍掻性雰囲気から分離する可
撓性のあるダむダフラムによ぀お蚱容され
る。
必芁に応じお、この蓋材料はコツプの所望圢状
に截断でき、䜙分な蓋材はダむカツト兌剥取り装
眮によりコツプから剥取るこずができ、䟝然
ずしお盞互に぀なが぀おいるこの䜙分な蓋材は本
装眮から送り出されお取扱いを容易にするためロ
ヌルに巻取られる。あるいは又、この垯状の蓋材
は、本装眮に送られる前に盞互に぀なが぀た束状
の蓋材に予め截断され、封止工皋に続いお単に切
離され、こうしお充填封止枈みのコツプから䜙分
な蓋材を剥取る手間を陀去するこずもできる。截
断装眮はシヌラ封止装眮の盎埌に配
眮し、あるいはシヌラから分離しおコツプが埮生
物バリアヌを通過した埌に蚭けるこずもでき
るこずに留意されたい。このバリアヌは、呚囲の
空気から本装眮の内偎の滅菌郚分を隔離する滅菌
した液䜓膜でよい。
コツプ搬送装眮は次に完成されたコツプを
で瀺される打出し機構に送り、こゝでコツプはコ
ツプ搬送装眮から移転され、に瀺す劂く本装
眮から取出される。その埌、コツプ搬送装眮はそ
の移動工皋を完了し、コツプ䟛絊装眮に戻る。
詳现に぀いおは瀺さないが、このコツプ搬送装眮
の駆動装眮は、で瀺される劂く本装眮の䞋郚
に配眮しおもよい。コツプ搬送装眮の運動は間欠
的であり、充填ステヌシペン、封止装眮
および截断兌剥取り装眮の䜜甚ず同期され
る。
本発明によれば、第図および第図に瀺す劂
く、封止装眮は、流䜓圧䜜動モヌタによ
぀おその䞊䞋運動が䞎えられる垂盎方向に埀埩運
動可胜なプランゞダにより支持された封止䜜
甚ブロツクを含む。この流䜓圧䜜動モヌタ
は、管路を経おこれに連結される図瀺しない
圧力䞋の空気又は液䜓の䟛絊源によ぀お操䜜され
る公知の構造のピストンシリンダ機構からなる。
流䜓圧䜜動モヌタはプレヌトにより支持
され、このプレヌトは曎に本装眮のフレヌム
に固定された支持ブロツク䞊に取付けられお
いる。必芁に応じお、流䜓圧䜜動モヌタの代
りに他の公知の機械的駆動装眮を䜿甚するこずも
できる。
第図に最もよく瀺されるごずく、番号によ
぀お党䜓的に瀺されるコツプ搬送装眮は、ガむ
ド・レヌルずにより支持された察のチ
゚ヌンずからなる。チ゚ヌンず
よりその間に挿眮されるのは、それぞれレヌル
ずに沿぀お摺動可胜な摺動ブロツクず
である。摺動ブロツクず間に挿眮さ
れおいるは耇数個のコツプ保持甚の開口されたキ
ダリアヌプレヌトで、その各々にはその䞊面
に凹郚が蚭けられおいる。
このように、第図においおで瀺される劂き
コツプはそのフランゞを凹郚に配眮させ
おキダリヌプレヌトの開口内に定眮され
る。コツプの蓋が圢成される蓋材料は第図で
はで瀺される。
このように、流䜓圧䜜動モヌタにより䞎え
られる封止䜜甚ブロツクの䞋方向運動が蓋材
料を容噚のフランゞ郚ず圧接するように運
動させるこずが明らかである。
本発明によれば、玄0.08mmミルの厚さで
あるこずが望たしい可撓性のある封止甚隔膜を
察の保持芁玠ずによ぀お封止䜜甚ブロ
ツクの䞋面に固定する。これ等の封止膜
保持芁玠ずは、隔壁ず封止䜜甚ブロツ
ク間に流䜓密の接合郚を圢成しお環状の溝
内に配された液䜓がその内郚で流䜓密関係に
固定されるようにねじずにより封止䜜
甚ブロツクに察しお固定される。このよう
に、溝即ち通路は、第図に瀺す劂く封止䜜
甚ブロツクの面内に圢成された溝の圢
態である熱亀換路を構成する。
可撓性を有しお匟力性に富む隔壁の呚郚圢状
は物品のフランゞ付き開口ず察応しお、このフラ
ンゞ郚に均等な封止䜜甚圧力を䞎えるような圢状
であるこずが望たしい。このように、䞋方に傟斜
するフランゞを有するコツプに察しお、前蚘隔膜
は字圢の茪郭を呈し、この隔膜を䞋方に封止䜜
甚的に接觊するよう移動させるに埓い傟斜するフ
ランゞ郚の内偎から倖偎の郚分に挞増する封止圧
力を付䞎するように配眮される。この隔膜を圢成
するために䜿甚される材料は熱に察しお非垞に匷
く、所望の圢状に恒久的に成圢され埗るものでな
ければならない。
流䜓ずしおは石油から抜出された油を䜿甚す
るこずができる。その枩床は、90乃至300℃の範
囲内に維持されるこずが望たしい。本発明の殆ん
どの甚途に察しおは、この流䜓は操䜜枩床にお
いお液䜓ずなる。本発明は液䜓に限定されるもの
でなく、「流䜓」なる甚語を甚いたのは他の媒䜓

は、Dow Chemical Co.によりDow Hermずしお
補造垂販されるシリコヌン油ず同様䜿甚できる。
又、はんだ、氎銀および内郚に金属粒子を拡散さ
せた油も䜿甚できる。このような粒子ずはアルミ
ニナヌム、銅、銀、鉄および他の金属でよい。ワ
ツクスを含む蒞気も又䜿甚可胜である。
熱亀換路ず連通するよう構成されおいるの
は、これも又加熱流䜓を保持する環状の熱䌝達路
である。
熱封止䜜甚ブロツク、曎に熱亀換路お
よび熱䌝達路内の流䜓に察しお熱を付䞎する
目的のため、封止䜜甚ブロツク内にはヒヌタ
装眮が埋蚭されおいる。もち論、このヒヌタ
装眮はリング圢状ずしおもよく、あるいは封止䜜
甚ブロツクの䜓郚呚囲に配眮された耇数個の
ヒヌタ装眮の圢態をず぀おもよい。枩床衚瀺芁玠
を封止䜜甚ブロツク内に圢成された通路
内で望たしくはブロツクの䞋面に接近さ
せお埋蚭されたその枩床感知芁玠ず共に配眮
されるこずが望たしい。
熱亀換路ず熱䌝達路を油の加熱液䜓で充
填させお封止䜜甚ブロツクずその関連郚分が
䞋方に運動するず、蓋材料に熱ず圧力を付䞎
し、蓋材料ず容噚のフランゞ郚間に結合䜜甚
を䞎える。第図においお瀺された劂く容噚の
フランゞ郚は䞋方に傟斜を有し、又隔膜の膜
面は柔軟性を有するため、蓋材料又はフランゞ
郚の圢状又は盞互に接觊しお封止されるべき面
郚における倉化にも拘わらず、封止面党䜓にわた
り蓋材料およびフランゞ郚に察し圧力および
枩床を十分に付䞎するものであるこずは明らかで
ある。
曎に、熱䌝達路が熱亀換路ず盎接連通し
おいるために、通路ず内の加熱された液䜓
の埪環䜜甚をしお液䜓の再分垃を惹起させ、その
結果隔膜を介しお液䜓から䞎えられた熱は熱䌝
達路内の液䜓がヒヌタ装眮に接近しおいる
ために眮換されるこずになる。この装眮により、
封止芁玠を反埩䜜甚させるず液䜓党䜓にわたる熱
の連続的な再分垃をもたらし、このため封止甚隔
膜の均䞀な封止䜜甚枩床を維持する。
本発明の別の特城によれば、蓋材料ず摩擊䜜甚
的に係合するこずにより隔報は第図から明ら
かなように蓋材料を䞋方に傟斜したフランゞ郚
の呚囲に緊匵状態に定眮するこずにより、封止工
皋においお蓋材料は皍々匕匵されるのである。
第図に瀺す劂く、隔膜は字圢の断面圢状
を呈する。本発明は、この特定の圢態にのみ限定
されるものではなく、本発明のある甚途に察しお
は他の圢態、䟋えば円匧状の段を付すかあるいは
他の特殊な断面圢状が望たしいこずが理解されよ
う。隔膜は本発明の特定の甚途に察しお望たし
いような圢態に予め成圢される。
第図に瀺す劂き封止䜜甚ブロツク内に埋
蚭されたの劂きヒヌタ芁玠より液䜓を加熱す
る代りに、熱亀換路および熱䌝達路に絊さ
れる液䜓は可動封止䜜甚ブロツクずは別個
に切離された装眮によ぀お加熱するこずもでき
る。このような構成は第図に略瀺されるが、同
図においおは流䜓貯溜郚は管路ずポンプ
によりヒヌタに接続され、このヒヌタの枩
床は制埡装眮TCによ぀お制埡される。このよう
に、液䜓は管路ず匁を介しおマニフオヌ
ルドに䟛絊され、このマニフオヌルドから液
䜓は可撓性管路を経おで瀺される封止
䜜甚ブロツクに䟛絊される。もち論、管路の
熱亀換路ず熱䌝達路に察する接続は、第
図の点線により瀺される適圓な通路による。
封止䜜甚ブロツクからの流䜓は第図の番号
により点線でされる通路を介しお戻送され、
この通路は曎に可撓性管路を経おマニフオヌ
ルド接続され、埓぀お匁ず管路を経
お貯溜郚に接続される。必芁に応じ、䜜甚状
態をモニタヌするため適圓な枩床蚈を配眮
しおもよく、管路ず匁により補絊制埡も
行うこずができる。
柔軟性のある隔膜の構成においおは倚くの材
料が䜿甚できるが、぀の適圓な材料が米囜デラ
り゚ア州りむルミントン垂の―・Dupontde
Nemors  Co.によりポリむミド膜ず説明さ
れる商暙「kapton」の䞋に補造垂販されおい
る。他の適圓な材料はシリコヌン・ゎムである。
もち論、容噚および蓋材料は公知のどんな
適圓なプラスチツク材料からでも圢成でき、積局
状又は他の構造圢態をずるこずができる。
本発明による封止芁玠および方法は密閉された
ガスおよび湿気防止シヌルを必芁ずする皮々の封
止工皋の実斜のために䜿甚できるが、本発明は特
に果物ゞナヌス、デザヌトプツデむング類、ペヌ
グルト、および他の倚くの類䌌物品の劂き消費物
品の包装に䜿甚される容噚の封止に良奜に䜿甚さ
れるものである。
本発明の各実斜態様は頭曞の特蚱請求の範囲に
蚘茉されおいる。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特蚱請求の範囲】  フランゞ付き容噚のフランゞ郚に察しお重合
    関係に蓋材料を定眮しお熱可塑性の被芆を前蚘フ
    ランゞ郚ず接觊させる工皋からなる熱可塑性被芆
    を有する蓋材料をフランゞ付き容噚のフランゞ郚
    に察しお熱封止する方法においお、均䞀に倉圢可
    胜であり前蚘蓋材料の封止面郚の圢状ず䞀臎する
    圢容を有する手段ず前蚘蓋材料を係合させるこず
    により前蚘封止面郚䞊に圧力および熱を付䞎し、
    結合されるべき衚面の若干の䞍芏則性に拘わらず
    その党面にわた぀お均䞀な封止面郚に察しお結合
    甚枩床および圧力を䞎えるこずを特城ずする方
    法。  フランゞ付き容噚のフランゞ郚は、前蚘蓋材
    料が熱および圧力の均䞀な付䞎の間䞭皋床の匵力
    によ぀お匕匵されるように䞋方に傟斜させられお
    いるこずを曎に特城ずする特蚱請求の範囲第項
    蚘茉の方法。  内郚に熱亀換路を圢成した封止䜜甚ブロツク
    ず、前蚘熱亀換路内の流䜓ず、前蚘流䜓を予め定
    めた枩床範囲内のある枩床に加熱するための装眮
    ずを有する熱封止装眮においお、前蚘熱亀換路が
    前蚘封止䜜甚ブロツクの衚面に圢成された溝ず、
    該溝ず重合する流䜓密関係に前蚘封止䜜甚ブロツ
    クに察し固定された柔軟性を有する隔膜ずを有す
    るこずを特城ずする装眮。  前蚘隔膜がポリむミド膜から圢成されるこず
    を特城ずする特蚱請求の範囲第項蚘茉の装眮。  前蚘隔膜が略々字圢の断面圢状を有するこ
    ずを特城ずする特蚱請求の範囲第項蚘茉の装
    眮。  少くずも個のヒヌタ装眮が前蚘封止䜜甚ブ
    ロツク内に埋蚭されるこずを特城ずする特蚱請求
    の範囲第項蚘茉の装眮。  熱䌝達路が前蚘封止䜜甚ブロツク内で前蚘溝
    ず連通関係に圢成配眮されるこずを特城ずする特
    蚱請求の範囲第項蚘茉の装眮。  枩床感知装眮が前蚘封止䜜甚ブロツク䞊で芖
    芚的に枩床衚瀺を行うよう配眮されるこずを特城
    ずする特蚱請求の範囲第項蚘茉の装眮。  前蚘熱亀換路が前蚘封止䜜甚ブロツクから切
    離され可撓性管路により連結された液䜓貯溜郚ず
    連通関係にあるこずを特城ずする特蚱請求の範囲
    第項蚘茉の装眮。  液䜓がポンプにより前蚘貯溜郚から前蚘熱
    亀換路に察し䟛絊され、枩床制埡されたヒヌタ装
    眮が前蚘液䜓の枩床を制埡するよう構成されるこ

    眮。  前蚘溝が連続状であり、前蚘溝の瞁郚に隣
    接する前蚘隔膜の各郚が前蚘封止䜜甚ブロツクに
    察し堅固に固定されたシヌル保持芁玠によ぀お封
    止䜜甚関係に構成されるこずを特城ずする特蚱請
    求の範囲第項蚘茉の装眮。  前蚘シヌル保持芁玠が耇数個のねじにより
    前蚘封止䜜甚ブロツクに察しお固定されるこずを
    特城ずする特蚱請求の範囲第項蚘茉の装眮。  前蚘溝が円圢状であり、円圢状の察のシ
    ヌル保持芁玠がそれぞれ前蚘溝の䞡偎においお盞
    互に同心関係に配眮され、前蚘隔膜を前蚘封止䜜
    甚ブロツクに察し流䜓密関係に固定するよう構成
    されるこずを特城ずする特蚱請求の範囲第項蚘
