Description
【考案の詳細な説明】
本考案はバツクアツプリング付オイルシールに
係る。[Detailed Description of the Invention] The present invention relates to an oil seal with a back-up spring.
回転軸がハウジングから突出している機器内に
圧力変化の大きい液体を密封する際に、前記回転
軸がハウジングから突出している部分すなわち密
封部から前記液体が漏出しないようにするために
バツクアツプリングを備えたオイルシールが使用
されている。この種のオイルシールの従来例とし
て例えば特公昭57−8338号に示すように二部品か
ら成り断面路U字状に形成した金属環の一部をバ
ツクアツプリングとして使用しているものがあ
る。この金属環を形成する二部品の中の一方の部
品は全面に接着剤が塗布されており、リツプを有
するシール本体部を成形時に焼付し、且つ他方の
部品はリツプとその近傍のみを金属環から遊離さ
せるために非接着状態にし、バツクアツプリング
の作用をさせたものがある。しかし接着処理せず
にバツクアツプリングの作用をさせる側の金属環
を、オイルシールのリツプネツク部の内周面に適
合した形状に切削加工する必要があり、この加工
作業が繁雑であり、且つ成形時の圧力によりゴム
がバツクアツプリングの内周面にバリとして流出
する欠点がある。また従来例例えば実公昭34−
15919号に示すようにオイルシール成形後にバツ
クアツプリングを装着するようにしたオイルシー
ルも考案されているが、このような装着作業は生
産性を低下させ、さらにはリツプネツク部の内周
面へのバツクアツプリングのフイツト性が良くな
く、耐久性に乏しい欠点がある。また、加圧時に
は、回転中の回転軸にバツクアツプリングが圧接
され、該バツクアツプリングが軸と共に回転する
ことがある。その結果オイルシールの破損につな

本考案のオイルシール1は、第1図に示すよう
にオイルシール1をその成形時の圧力や温度に対
し変形しにくい、即ち熱変形温度の高いポリテト
ラフルオロエチレンやポリアミド系の合成樹脂よ
り成るバツクアツプリング2をオイルシール1の
成形時に成形用金型のキヤビテイ内にインサート
してリツプネツク部6の内周面と補強環4の径方
向部分41との間に形成された空隙内に非接着状
態で装着したものもある。すなわち第1図におい
てオイルシール1は補強環4の径方向部分41の
先端部を除き、シール本体7が成形時に加硫接着
され、該シール本体7からリツプネツク部6を介
してシールリツプ部5が延出している。該シール
リツプ部5の先端に形成してあるリツプエツジ8
が回転軸10と摺動接触してハウジング3内の液

おり、かつ、回転軸10にバツクアツプリング2
が接触しても、該バツクアツプリング2が回転軸
と共に回転することがなく、オイルシール1と破
損することを避けることができる。よつて、圧力
変化の大きい密封液に対しても、シールリツプ5
の変形が起きにくく、バツクアツプリング2が共
回りすることもなく、オイルシール1に良好な耐
