Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of light emission, by providing each light- permeable container with an annular discharge groove surrounded by the inner and outer circumferential walls of the container and the radial wall thereof to increase a total discharge length and reduce the absorption of ultraviolet rays performed by mercury atoms. CONSTITUTION:Each of light-permeable containers 1, 2 comprises an outer and an inner vertical circumferential walls 11, 12 and an annular bottom 10. An annular discharge groove 13 is defined by the walls 11, 12 and the bottom 10 so that discharge is caused in a space comprising the annular discharge grooves 13 and discharge holes 15, 16 of the containers 1, 2. Since the discharge space is curved, the total length of the discharge is made large. Since the discharge is caused near the outer circumferential walls 12 of the containers 1, 2, the ratio of absorption of ultrasonic rays performed by mercury atoms is reduced. The ratio of simulation of coating films 17 of a fluorescent substance on the inside surfaces of the outer circumferential walls 12 is thus augmented to enhance the efficiency of light emission.

The present invention generates a discharge inside the light-transmitting container close to the inner surface of the outer peripheral wall of the light-transmitting container, thereby increasing the total discharge distance and reducing the absorption of ultraviolet rays by mercury atoms. The present invention aims to provide a fluorescent lamp with improved luminous efficiency by increasing the excitation rate of a phosphor coating provided on the inner surface of the outer peripheral wall of a luminous container.

According to such a configuration, inside the light-transmitting container, the discharge holes are connected to each other, and discharge occurs along the donut-shaped discharge groove. This kind of discharge has an arc shape, so the total discharge distance is long, and since it passes close to the outer peripheral wall of the translucent container, the absorption rate of ultraviolet rays by mercury atoms is small. The excitation ability of the phosphor coating is increased,
Luminous efficiency improves.

As explained above, according to the present invention, the donut-shaped discharge groove surrounded by the outer circumferential wall, inner circumferential wall, and one side wall is formed in the translucent container. It occurs near the inner surface of the outer peripheral wall of the container, and as the total discharge distance becomes longer, the absorption rate of ultraviolet rays by mercury atoms decreases, and therefore the excitation ratio of the phosphor coating provided on the inner surface of the outer peripheral wall of the translucent container decreases. This results in an increase in luminous efficiency.

It has a donut-shaped discharge groove surrounded by an outer peripheral wall, an inner peripheral wall, and one side wall and is open on the other side, and has a partition wall that partitions the donut-shaped discharge groove in the circumferential direction, and the above-mentioned one near the partition wall. A light-transmitting container having a discharge hole formed in a side wall and a closing plate for closing the opening of the light-transmitting container, a plurality of the light-transmitting containers being stacked and joined together, and located at the end. By closing the open part of the translucent container with the closing plate, a single discharge path connecting the discharge groove and the discharge hole is formed, electrodes are arranged at both ends of this discharge path, and the discharge path A fluorescent lamp characterized in that a fluorescent film is formed on the inner surface of the lamp.
