Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the necessity of the memory, to do without the special deflection and further to eliminate the necessity of the complicated control pulse by compensating the vertical landing position of the electronic beam for the real time of the video display time. CONSTITUTION:When the electronic beam is irradiated on triangular holes 61 and 62 or resistors 71 and 72, the electric current output in accordance with the position where the electronic beam is irradiated can be obtained from the sensor arranged for one vertical cathode division. Namely, the more the electronic beam is irradiated in the upper direction at the resistors 71 and 72, the more a detecting electric current I1 is increased, and I2 is decreased. In the same manner, the electric current I2 to flow into the triangular hole 62 is increased, and the electric current I2 to flow into the triangular hole 62 is decreased. Next, since the sensitivity is raised and the noise is decreased, I1-I2 calculation is executed, and further, to eliminate the detecting error due to the emission quantity change, the result of the above-mentioned difference is divided by (I1+I2). The suitable function f(x) is multiplied to the signal, and the quantity of the off-set, the gain, etc., is adjusted.

Conventional technology Traditionally, cathode ray tubes have been mainly used as display elements for displaying color television images, but conventional cathode ray tubes have a very long depth compared to the screen size, making it difficult to use in thin television receivers. It was impossible to create. In addition, although EL display elements, plasma display devices, liquid crystal display elements, etc. have recently been developed as flat display elements, all of them are insufficient in terms of performance such as brightness, contrast, and color display, and have not been put into practical use. It has not yet been reached.

Therefore, we aimed to achieve a flat display device using electron beams, and when the screen on the screen is vertically divided into multiple sections, an electron beam is generated for each section. Some devices display multiple lines by vertically deflecting each electron beam to display a television image as a whole.

These line cathodes (2a) to (2o) are heated so as to generate a thermionic electron beam by passing an electric current through them, and as described later, electrons are emitted from the IIX cathode (2a) for a certain period of time. controlled to emit a beam. The back electrode (1) suppresses the generation of electron beams from other line cathodes other than the line cathode that is controlled to emit electron beams for a certain period of time, and directs the generated electron beams only in the forward direction. It has the effect of pushing out. This back electrode (1

The screen (9) is constructed by applying a phosphor (20) that emits light when irradiated with an electron beam to the back surface of a glass plate (21), and adding a metal back layer (not shown). The phosphor (20) has two phosphors of three colors R2O and B for one slit (14) of the control electrode (5), that is, for each one electron beam divided in the horizontal direction. They are provided in pairs and are applied in vertical stripes. The broken lines drawn on the screen (9) in FIG. ) shows the horizontal divisions displayed corresponding to each of them. As shown in the enlarged view in Figure 7, one section partitioned by these two has R, G, and B phosphors (20) for two picture elements in the horizontal direction, and 16 lines in the vertical direction. It has a width of 30 minutes. The size of one section is, for example, 1 m in the horizontal direction and 10 m in the vertical direction.
It is IIIl.

It is divided into 180 sections in the horizontal direction by a horizontal focusing electrode (6) and taken out. In Figure 7, one of them
The classification is shown. The amount of this electron beam passing through each section is controlled by a control electrode (5), and is focused horizontally by a horizontal focusing electrode (6) into a single narrow electron beam. FIG. 7 shows the vertical and horizontal divisions. The phosphors corresponding to each of (15-1) to (15-n) of the control electrode (5) are R, G, and B for two picture elements, but for convenience of explanation, one picture element is R□, G1. Further, the Landink position of the electron beam is detected by a resistor or a triangular hole on the focusing electrode. This detection method involves deflecting light so that it emits light at appropriate time intervals (for example, 1 field) at the upper and lower ends of one segment Kn in the vertical direction during the vertical retrace period, and detecting the land ink position in each case using a current value. Then, by converting this current value into a voltage value and performing arithmetic processing, the amount of change in amplitude and offset is obtained, and this is used to change the deflection waveform and return the land ink position to the normal position (Patent application No. 59 -211811 and Japanese Patent Application No. 59-265713).

Means for Solving the Problems In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides a plurality of line cathode electron beam generation sources, a screen having a phosphor that emits light when irradiated with the above electron beams, and the above-mentioned A focusing electrode that focuses the electron beam generated by the electron beam generation source, an electrostatic deflection electrode that deflects the electron beam on the way to the screen, and an electrostatic deflection electrode that controls the amount of the electron beam irradiated onto the screen. It is equipped with a display element that has a control electrode that controls the emission intensity and a sensor that detects the vertical land ink (deflection) position, and compares the detection signal obtained by calculating the sensor output and converting it into voltage with the signal obtained by calculating the vertical deflection signal. In this embodiment, a comparator is provided, and a means is provided for superimposing a signal corresponding to the Landink position shift obtained from the comparator on the analog vertical deflection signal at that time.

A signal corresponding to the Landink position shift is obtained by comparing it with the signal (υ − υ′)/2 obtained by calculating from υ′, and this signal is fed back to the vertical deflection signals υ and υ′ in real time to perform the shift. and perform stability compensation for the vertical land ink position. Since feedback is applied in real time in this way, there is no need for memory, special deflection data, or complicated control pulses for operating the system. This will be explained with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 shows a feedback system for compensating for deviations in the vertical land ink position of an electron beam of an image display device in an embodiment of the present invention. The operation of the feedback system configured in this way will be described below. Triangular holes (61) (62) or resistors (71) (72) shown in Fig. 2 or 3
As shown in FIG. 4, when an electron beam is irradiated, a current output corresponding to the position irradiated with the electron beam can be obtained from the sensors arranged in each vertical single-force sword section. That is, in the resistors (71) and (72), the detection current I increases as the electron beam is irradiated onto the top.

In FIG. 1, I, , I2 indicate the detected currents. Next, in order to increase the sensitivity and reduce noise, the calculation ``-I2'' is performed, and furthermore, in order to eliminate detection errors due to changes in the amount of emission, the result of the two-dimensional difference is divided by (I, +L). This signal is multiplied by an appropriate function f (x) to adjust amounts such as offset and gain. If the electron beam is in the correct position, the output signal (81) of the function generator (54)
) (Fig. 5(a)) and the output signal (8) of the arithmetic unit (52)
2) (Figure 5(b)) is consistent. If the n-grain lined position of the electron beam shown in FIG. 4 is shifted upward from the normal position, the comparator (55) outputs a positive signal corresponding to the amount of shift. The level shift circuits (56) (56)' receive this signal, and one of the level shift circuits (56) instantly works to lower the n-th stage DC voltage of the vertical deflection signal.
6) ′ works to increase the DC voltage v′. As a result, feedback is applied until the n-th stage electron beam returns to its normal position, making it possible to compensate the vertical ramp knob position of the electron beam in real time.

Effects of the Invention According to the present invention, it is possible to compensate for the vertical land ink position of the electron beam in real time during the image display period, and therefore it does not require a memory or special deflection as in the conventional case, and it also eliminates the need for complicated and complicated deflection. It does not require any control pulses.
