Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は、合成樹脂材料と異種材料とを重ね合わせ、そ
の両者をレーザ光の照射によって接合する方法に関する
ものである。
〔従来の技術〕
従来、合成樹脂材料と金属等の異種材料とを接合する際
には、第3図の断面図及び第4図の断面図に示すような
機械的接合方法が広く利用されている。
第3図の(a)及び(b)において、30は合成樹脂材
料であって、この合成樹脂材料30の一方には成形時に
おいて接合用の突起部31が同時に成形されており、相
手部材である金属材料32に形成されている貫通穴33
が挿通されるようになっている。そして、両者の材料3
0.32を接合する際には、第3図の(a)に示すよう
に金属材料32の貫通穴33を合成樹脂材料30の突起
部31に挿通して、両材料30,32を重ね合わせる。
その後、合成樹脂材料30の突起31をハンダゴテ、高
周波、超音波等の加熱手段(図示せず)によって溶融し
、第3図の(b)に示すように溶融物31aで金属材料
320貫通穴330周辺を覆い、両材料30.32を接
合するようにしたものである。
また、第4図の(a)および(b)において、40は合
成樹脂材料であって、この合成樹脂材料40の一方には
成形時において接合用の掛止め形状部41を有する突起
部42が同時に成形されており、相手部材である金属材
料430貫通穴44が挿通されるようになっている。そ
して、両者の材料を接合する際には、第4E(a)に示
すように金属材料32の貫通穴44を合成樹脂材料40
の突起部42の上方に位置させる。その後、第4図(b
)に示すように金属材料32の貫通穴44を合成樹脂材
料40の突起部42に押し込み、掛止め形状部41で掛
は止めして両材料40.43を接合するようにしたもの
である。
しかし、前者の機械的接合方法および後者の機械的接合
方法は、ともに合成樹脂材料30.40の成形時におい
て接合のための突起部31.42を成形しなければなら
ず、成形用金型が複雑となることはもとより、接合部が
破断された時には補修に際して接着剤に頼らざるをえな
い問題がある。
上述のようなことから、合成樹脂材料と異種材料を接合
する際には、第5図に示すような機械的接合方法が多く
利用されている。
第5図において、51はスチレンーアクリロニトル共重
合体からなる板部材であって、この板部材51の板厚は
5.0鶴に形成され、その上部には異種材料となる金属
からなる板部材52゛が配設されており、その中央部に
は貫通孔53が形成され、その板厚は0.8 mmの厚
さに形成されている。
そして、画板部材51.52を接合する際には、ハンダ
鏝55の先端に設けられている加熱部56を20W程度
で加熱しておき、その加熱部56を異種材料となる金属
からなる板部材52の貫通孔53から挿入し、スチレン
−アクリロニトリル共重合体からなる板部材51に押し
当てつつ、その表面を溶融させる。その際、板部材5工
の溶融物51aはハンダ鏝55の加熱部56が挿入され
るにつれて、貫通孔530間隙から上方に盛り上がり、
その溶融物51aによって貫通孔530周辺部54が覆
われる。そして、溶融物51aで周辺部54が十分に覆
われた後、ハンダ鏝55の加熱部56を板部材51から
ひき上げる。これにより、溶融物51aが硬化して両板
部材51.52が接合される。
〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕
しかしながら、このような機械的接合方法においては、
スチレン−アクリロニトリル共重合体からなる板部材5
1を加熱・溶融する際に、ハンダ鏝55の加熱部56を
板部材51に直接接触させているため、接合後における
ハンダ鏝55の引き上げる際に溶融物51aが加熱部5
6に付着し、接合部を良好に創成することができず、両
板部材51.52の接合強度を低下させることはもとよ
り、接合を行なうたびに溶融物51aを除去しなければ
ならない不具合がある。
従って、この発明は、上記の不具合を解消するためにな
されたもので、合成樹脂材料と異種材料のうち、下部に
配設される合成樹脂材料にレーザ光を照射して加熱・溶
融し、その溶融物で両材料を接合することによって、接
合強度の低下を防止すると共に、溶融物の除去作業を皆
無とすることにある。
〔問題点を解゛決するための手段〕
すなわち、この発明に係る合成樹脂材料と異種材料の接
合方法においては、合成樹脂材料と異種材料を重ね合わ
せ、その両者を接合するにあたり、前記重ね合わされた
両材料のうち、下部をレーザ光に対して吸収性の合成樹
脂材料とし、上部を貫通穴が形成された異種材料とせし
め、この貫通穴の上方から下部の合成樹脂材料の表面に
ガラス材料からなるプローブを介在してレーザ光を照射
させつつ、その溶融部位に前記プローブを押し付け、異
種材料の貫通穴から溶融物を表面に押し出すようにした
ものである。
そして、上部に配設される異種材料としては、下部に配
設される合成樹脂材料に対して異種材料となる材料であ
ればよく、例えば鉄、銅、亜鉛、真鍮、アルミニウム、
ステンレス等の金属材料、ガラス、ホウロウ、耐火物、
セメント等のオールドセラミックス、アルミナ、ジルコ
ニア、コージライト、窒化物、炭化物、ホウ化物等のニ
ューセラミックスなどを挙げることができる。
また、下部に配設される合成樹脂材料としてはレーザ光
に対して吸収性を有するものであればよ(、例えば、カ
ーボンブラック等の補助材料を0゜3ないし0.7M量
%添加したポリエチレン樹脂、ポリプロピレン樹脂、ス
チレン−アクリロニトリル共重合体等の合成樹脂材料、
ガラス繊維で強化され、かつカーボンブランク等の補助
材料が0.3ないし0.7重量%添加されたポリエチレ
ン樹脂、ポリプロピレン樹脂、スチレン−アクリロニト
リル共重合体等の合成樹脂材料を挙げることができる。
そして、上述の両材料は重ね合わされた際に下部に配設
される材料がレーザ光に対して吸収性の合成樹脂材料と
なる組合せにおいて自由に選択して接合することができ
る。
また、両材料の接合時に使用されるレーザとしては、ガ
ラス:ネオジウム3+レーザ、YAG:ネオジウム“レ
ーザ、ルビーレーザ、ヘリウム−ネオンレーザ、クリプ
トンレーザ、アルゴンレーザ、H,レーザ、N、レーザ
等を挙げることが、  でき、このうち、特にYAG 
:ネオジウム2+レーザおよびガラス:ネオジウム3+
レーザが最も優れている。
また、両材料の接合時に用いられるレーザの波長として
は、接合する合成樹脂材料に通した波長が必要であって
、1606μm以下が最も優れており、その波長が1.
06μm以上の場合には下部の合成樹脂材料を加熱・溶
融させて接合することが困難となる。また、レーザの出
力においては、5Wないし100Wが適しており、5W
ないし30Wが最も優れている。そして、その際の出力
が5W以下の場合には下部の合成樹脂材料を加熱・溶融
するに多くの時間を必要とし、100W以上の場合には
下部の合成樹脂材料が蒸発したり、変質したりして接合
強度が低下する原因となる。
〔実施例〕
以下、本発明の実施例を図面に基づいて詳細に説明する
(第1実施例) 第1図は本発明に係る合成樹脂材料と異種材料の接合方
法の第1実施例を説明する概略断面図を示すものである
第1図の(a)ないしくb)において、lはガラス繊維
が添加されて強化されたスチレン−アクリロニトリル共
重合体からなる板部材であって、この板部材1の板厚は
5龍に形成されている。そして、この板部材1の原材料
色はカーボンブランクが0.5重量%混入されて黒色と
なっており、1゜06μm以下のレーザ光に対しては吸
収性の性質を有している。
また、板部材1の上部には合成樹脂材料に対して異種材
料となる&iil坂製の板部材2が配設されており、そ
の板厚は0.8龍に形成されている。そして、この板部
材2の一部には直径が5fl程度の貫通穴3が形成され
ている。
また、YAG :ネオジウム3+レーザの照射ノズル4
の先端には石英ガラスから円柱状に形成されたプローブ
5が設けられており、その直径は鋼板製の板部材2に形
成されている貫通穴3の直径よりも小径の3flに形成
されている。そして、プローブ5が石英ガラスで作られ
ているので、1.05μmの波長を持つYAGレーザ光
Yについては透過するようになっている。
そして、第1図の(a)に示すように重ね合わされた両
板部材1.2を接合する際には、第1図の(b)に示す
ように鋼板製の板部材2に形成されている貫通穴3の上
方から照射ノズル4のプローブ5を挿入して、その先端
をスチレン−アクリロニトリル共重合体からなる板部材
1の表面に当接させる。
次に、YAG:ネオジウム2+レーザの照射ノズル4か
ら波長が1.06μm、出力が20WのYAGレーザ光
Yを凸レンズ6で集光させて照射する。これによって、
YAGレーザ光Yは、円柱状のプローブ5の中を反射お
よび屈折を繰り返しながら透過すると共に、プローブ5
の先端からスチレン−アクリロニトリル共重合体からな
る板部材1の表面に達する。
そして、板部材lに達したYAGレーザ光Yは、その部
位でエネルギとして蓄積されると共に、そのエネルギに
よって板部材1の表面がすみやかに加熱・溶融される。
そして、YAGレーザ光Yによって板部材1を十分に溶
融させながら、第1図の(c)に示すようにプローブ5
の先端を溶融部位に押し付ける。その際、板部材1の溶
融物1aはプローブ5が挿入されるにつれて、板部材2
の貫通穴3の間隙から上方に盛り上がり、貫通穴3の周
辺部3aが溶融物1aによって覆われる。
そして、溶融物1aによって貫通穴3の周辺部3aが十
分に覆われた後、YAGレーザ光Yの照射を停止し、第
1図の(d)に示すようにプローブ5を引き上げて、そ
の先端を鋼板製の板部材2の上方に位置させる。その際
、プローブ5は石英ガラスによって円柱状に形成されて
いるため、他の物質とは極めて結合しに(り、溶融物1
aの付着もな(容易に引き上げられ、溶融部位が良好に
創成されて接合強度の低下が防止される。
これにより、板部材1の溶融物1aが板部材2に形成さ
れている貫通穴3の周辺部3ajc覆った状態で硬化し
、スチレン−アクリロニトリル共重合体からなる板部材
1と鋼板製の板部材2とが強固に接合される。
(第2実施例) 第2図は本発明に係る合成樹脂材料と異種材料の接合方
法の第2実施例を説明する概略断面図、を示すものであ
る。
第2図(a)ないしくb)において、11はポリプロピ
レン樹脂からなる板部材であって、この板部材11の板
厚は51に形成されている。そして、この板部材11の
原材料色はカーボンブラックが0.6重量%混入されて
黒色となっており、1゜06μm以下のレーザ光に対し
ては吸収性の性質を有している。
また、板部材11の上部には合成樹脂材料に対して異種
材料となる窒化物系のニューセフミックスからなる板部
材12が配設されており、その板厚は1.2鶴に形成さ
れている。そして、この板部材12の一部には直径5鶴
程度の貫通穴13が形成されている。
また、YAG:ネオジウム1+レーザの照射ノ球形状に
覆われる。
そして、溶融物11aによって貫通穴13の周辺部13
aが十分に覆われた後、YAGレー、ザ光Yの照射を停
止し、第1図の(d)に示すように照射ノズル14を引
き上げて、プローブ15の突部15aをニューセラミッ
クスの板部材12の上方に位置させる。その際、プロー
ブ15ば高シリカガラスから形成されているため、他の
物質とは極めて結合しにクク、溶融物1aの付着もなく
容易に引き上げられ、溶融部位が良好に創成されて接合
強度の低下が防止される。
これにより、板部材1の溶融物1aが板部材12に形成
されている貫通穴13の周辺部13aを半球形に覆った
状態で硬化し、ポリプロピレン樹脂からなる板部材11
とニューセラミックスからなる板部材12とが強固に接
合される。
〔発明の効果〕
以上説明したように、本発明に係る合成樹脂材料と異種
材料の接合方法においては、合成樹脂材料と異種材料の
うち、下部に配設される合成樹脂材料にレーザ光を照射
することによって、加熱・溶融し、その溶融物をガラス
材料からなるプローブを押し付けて上部の異種材料に盛
り上がらせて接合するようにしたから、両材料の接合強
度を低下をさせることはなく接合することができる効果
がある。
また、本発明においては、合成樹脂材料の溶融物をガラ
ス材料からなるプローブで押し付けるようにしたから、
溶融部位からプローブを引き上げる際にも溶融物が付着
することがないので、接合を行なうたびに溶融物を除去
する作業を皆無とすることができる効果がある。
また、本発明においては、合成樹脂材料にレーザ光を照
射して溶融し、その溶融物で両材料を接合するようにし
たから、従来のハンダ鏝に比較してすみやかにようにさ
せることができ、接合作業を著しく向上させることがで
きる効果がある。
また、本発明においては、プローブによって創成された
溶融物部位の凹溝は両材料が離税した後、再結合しなけ
ればならない補修時においても、セルフタッピング、ね
じ等の結合手段の下火として利用することができる効果
がある。

Claims (1)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 合成樹脂材料と異種材料を重ね合わせ、その両者を接合
    するにあたり、前記重ね合わされた両材料のうち、下部
    をレーザ光に対して吸収性の合成樹脂材料とし、上部を
    貫通穴が形成された異種材料とせしめ、この貫通穴の上
    方から下部の合成樹脂材料の表面にガラス材料からなる
    プローブを介在してレーザ光を照射させて溶融させつつ
    、その溶融部位に前記プローブを押し付け、異種材料の
    貫通穴から溶融物を表面に押し出すことを特徴とする合
    成樹脂材料と異種材料の接合方法。
