When cooling a heated object such as a steel product by spraying cooling gas onto it, even if the cooling gas is sprayed onto the heated object only from one direction, only the surface onto which it is blown cools down quickly, making uniform cooling impossible. For this reason, uniform quenching hardness cannot be obtained. There were problems such as large distortion. Therefore, as in the heat treatment apparatus shown in Japanese Patent Publication No. 58-27324, a pair of fans are installed so as to sandwich the object to be heated from both sides, and both fans are turned on and off alternately at regular intervals to transfer the cooling gas to the heated object. A device is already known in which the material is caused to flow alternately in the forward and reverse directions, but this requires two sets of fans, etc., resulting in high equipment costs, and also requires the use of both fans. Since the power source is switched, overcurrent occurs, the power cost is high, and there is a time loss associated with switching.

The present invention aims to solve the above-mentioned drawbacks, and consists of disposing a processing chamber in which objects to be heated are housed in a sealed container, and installing a gas cooler and a circulation fan adjacent to the processing chamber. A switching damper in which a gas cooler is directly connected to the suction side, vents are provided on opposing walls of the processing chamber, and each vent is selectively communicated with the blowout side of a circulation fan or the suction side of the gas cooler. The flow direction of the cooling gas inside the processing chamber can be reversed by switching the switching dampers, thereby making it possible to uniformly cool the object to be heated.

In the heat treatment apparatus configured in this way, the air inside the container 1 is discharged using a vacuum pump to clean the inside of the container 1.
The pressure is reduced to about 0.05 Torr, and the heating element 10 is energized to heat the object 5 under the high vacuum. Therefore, the object to be heated 5 retains its luster without being oxidized. A heating element 10 that can heat the object 5 to a predetermined temperature.
After turning off, N 2 gas for cooling is supplied into the container 1, and the inside of the container 1 is pressurized to 5 to 7 kg/cm 2 with the N 2 gas. Then, the circulation fan 6 and gas cooler 7 are driven. At that time, one switching damper 15
a closes the communication port 17a to connect the circulation duct 14a and the blow-off duct 9, and the other switching damper 1
5b closes the communication port 18b and connects the circulation duct 14b.
and the suction side of the gas cooler 7 to communicate with each other .
Circulate the gas in the direction of the arrow shown. Therefore, low-temperature N 2 gas is blown into the processing chamber 3 from the vent 11a to cool the object to be heated 5. The N 2 gas passes through the circulation duct 14b from the vent 11b, is returned to the gas cooler 7, is recooled, and then flows into the circulation fan 6, the blow-off duct 9, and the circulation duct 14a. After this circulation is carried out for a certain period of time, the cylinders 20a and 20b are operated and the switching dampers 15a and 15b are operated to switch their communication state. That is, by rotating the switching damper 15a to open the communication port 17a and closing the communication port 17b, the circulation duct 14a and the suction side of the gas cooler 7 are communicated, and at the same time, by rotating the other switching damper 15b, the communication port 17a is opened and the communication port 17b is closed. By closing 17b and opening the communication port 18b, the circulation duct 14b
and the blow-off duct 9 are communicated with each other. Then, the flow direction of the cooling gas in the processing chamber 3 is reversed, so that the object to be heated 5 is cooled by the N 2 gas blown out from the vent 11b. That is, by reversing the flow direction, the heated object 5 is uniformly cooled. Note that the reversal is repeated several times as necessary. In addition, in this case, since the inside of the container 1 is densely filled with N 2 gas under pressure, the amount of heat transferred per unit volume due to the transfer is high, so the object to be heated 5 is rapidly cooled. be able to.

A heat treatment apparatus according to another embodiment of the present invention shown in FIG. 5 is formed by dividing the processing chamber 3 in the above embodiment into a processing chamber 3A exclusively for heating and a processing chamber 3B exclusively for cooling. The partition plate is shown. The same reference numerals as in FIG. 2 indicate the same parts, and a detailed explanation thereof will be omitted, but in this case, the object to be heated 5 heated in a vacuum state in the processing chamber 3A is transferred to the processing chamber 3B and the The cooling gas is rapidly cooled in a pressurized state, and even at this time, the flow direction of the cooling gas is reversed several times as necessary by operating the switching dampers 15a and 15b to achieve uniform cooling.

As explained above, the heat treatment apparatus of the present invention can change the communication state and reverse the flow direction of the cooling gas in the processing chamber by operating the switching damper, so the equipment cost can be reduced with a simple configuration. The object to be heated can be cooled uniformly. In addition, it does not take much time to reverse the flow in the processing chamber, unlike the conventional case of switching the power supply, and there is no risk of overcurrent, which has the advantage of lower power cost and efficient cooling.
