Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は重ねられたプラスチツクシートに連続
して超音波振動により溶着線を形成するための装
置に関する。
従来、重ねられたプラスチツクシートに連続し
た溶着線を形成するには、第1図に示した装置が
使用されている。
この装置は、超音波発振機1と、超音波発振機
1で発生した超音波の電気振動エネルギーを機械
的振動エネルギーに変換する振動子2と、振動子
2に連結され振動子2の振動変位(振幅)を拡大
するための駆動ホーン(固定ホーン、ブースター
ホーンともいう)と、駆動ホーン3に接続され、
被加工物を加工するための工具ホーン4と、工具
ホーン4の被加工物と接する部分に設けられたチ
ツプ5と、チツプ5に対向し固定して配置された
受台9と、駆動ホーン3に設けられたフランジと
結合され、振動子2と駆動ホーン3の一部を囲み
これらを加圧装置に結合するためのケース6とか
らなつており、チツプ5と受台9との間にプラス
チツクフイルム10をはさみ込み、工具ホーン4
によりチツプ5を介してプラスチツクフイルム1
0に超音波振動を加え、受台9に向つて加圧しな
がら、巻取装置7によつて供給装置8から、プラ
スチツクフイルム10を巻取装置7の方に移動さ
せて、プラスチツクフイルム10に連続した溶着
線を形成するようになつている。第2図a,b
に、チツプ5の正面及び側面を示す。チツプ5及
び受台9と、プラスチツクフイルム10との間の
摩擦は、超音波振動を加えると、加えないときの
1/100程度となるので、チツプ5及び受台9を
ローラー状にして回転させなくても、プラスチツ
クフイルム10を滑らかに移動させることができ
る。しかしこの装置によつて溶着できるプラスチ
ツクフイルムの厚さは一枚の厚さで0.1mmまでで
あつて、これ以上の厚さのものは連続的に溶着す
ることができない。その理由は厚さ0.1mm以上の
プラスチツクフイルムになると、第1図、第2図
に示したチツプ5が、工具ホーン4が縮んだ時、
フイルム面から完全に離れた状態にならなくなる
ため、プラスチツクフイルム10とチツプ5との
間の摩擦が減少しなくなつて加工スピードが低下
し、さらに、厚さが増すとチツプ5がフイルム1
0に埋め込まれた状態となつて不動となり溶着で
きなくなるからである。
本発明は、一枚の厚さが0.1mm以上のプラスチ
ツクフイルムも連続的に溶着できる超音波プラス
チツク連続溶着装置を供することを目的とする。
本発明はこの目的を達するために、平らな一面
の中心に直角に駆動ホーンを接続し駆動装置によ
り駆動ホーンの中心線を軸として回転しうるよう
に設けられ、駆動ホーンにより生ぜしめられたた
わみ振動のループ位置かその付近の直径に形成さ
れた円板からなる工具ホーンと、工具ホーンと円
筒面が互に近接して対向するように配置され工具
ホーンと同周速で駆動装置により回転しうるよう
に設けられた円板状受台とを備えた超音波プラス
チツク連続溶着装置を構成したことにある。
第3図は本発明装置の要部斜視図であつて、1
1は円板からなる工具ホーンで、工具ホーン11
の平らな一面の中心に直角に駆動ホーン3が接続
されている。この工具ホーン11の直径は、駆動
ホーン3が縦振動した時、駆動ホーン3を中心と
するたわみ振動のループ位置かその付近となるよ
うに形成されている。工具ホーン11と駆動ホー
ン3は、駆動ホーン3の中心線を軸として図示さ
れていない駆動装置により一体に回転しうるよう
に設けられている。12は円板状受台で、工具ホ
ーン11と円筒面が互に近接し対向するように配
置され、工具ホーン11と同周速で図示されてい
ない駆動装置により回転しうるように設けられて
いる。第3図に示すようにプラスチツクフイルム
10を円板状受台12と工具ホーン11とで挾
み、駆動ホーン3を中心線に沿つて縦振動させる
と、工具ホーン11は、駆動ホーン3を中心とす
る円環状のたわみ振動と、フイルム面を叩く、叩
き振動を行ない、外周の円筒面は、プラスチツク
フイルム10に対してこすり振動を行ない、プラ
スチツクフイルム10を溶融し上下二枚を互に融
着させる。そこで工具ホーン11と円板状受台1
2の円周面が同周速となるような速度でプラスチ
ツクフイルム10を送出するように回転させるこ
とにより、プラスチツクフイルム10に連続して
溶着線を形成できる。
本発明では円板状の工具ホーン11によつて、
フイルム面に第1図のチツプ5のような叩き振動
を与えうるようにしたことにより、フイルム表面
と同時にフイルム内部まで加熱出来るので、従来
の超音波連続溶着装置では溶着できなかつた厚い
シートの連続溶着を従来より早い速度で溶着する
ことが可能となる。工具ホーン11の外径を、工
具ホーン11に生ぜしめられるたわみ振動のルー
プ(腹)位置と一致するようにしたときが最も大
きな振幅が得られ、駆動ホーン3の縦振動を最も
効率的に利用できるが、たわみ振動のノードに近
ずくほど振幅が小さくなるので、塩化ビニールシ
ートのように急激に温度上昇させると、炭化、発
泡するようなシートに対して振動のループ位置か
ら若干内外にずれた位置になるように工具ホーン
11の外径を適当に選定することにより、表面よ
り徐々に溶融でき、溶着スピードはループ位置に
外径を選定した場合よりも遅くなるが、炭化、発
泡を避けて連続溶着できる。
なお工具ホーン11のたわみ振動のループ位置
は、工具ホーン11の厚さと、駆動ホーン3に与
える縦振動の周波数を選定することにより変更で
きる。

  1. 1 平らな一面の中心に直角に駆動ホーンを接続
    し駆動装置により駆動ホーンの中心線を軸として
    回転しうるように設けられ駆動ホーンにより生ぜ
    しめられたたわみ振動のループ位置がその付近の
    直径に形成された円板からなる工具ホーンと、工
    具ホーンと円筒面が互に近接して対向するように
    配置され工具ホーンと同周速で駆動装置により回
    転しうるように設けられた円板状受台とを備えた
    ことを特徴とする超音波プラスチツク連続溶着装
    置。
