Conventionally, in this type of liquid crystal injection device, a liquid crystal penetrant containing liquid crystal is applied to the injection port of a liquid crystal cell in a vacuum atmosphere, and by releasing the vacuum, the liquid crystal contained in the liquid crystal penetrant is poured into the liquid crystal cell. It takes advantage of the phenomenon of being sucked into.

However, in such a liquid crystal supply device, when vacuuming, the liquid crystal penetrant may foam due to moisture and air contained in the liquid crystal penetrator, causing the liquid crystal to scatter, or the liquid crystal supplied in excess to the liquid crystal penetrator may bubble. There was a drawback that the injection port of the liquid crystal cell was blocked by the drops, and subsequent injection could not be carried out smoothly.

In order to achieve this purpose, the liquid crystal injection device according to the present invention is provided with a receiving tray to receive the drops that fall from the liquid crystal penetrant during evacuation to prevent the drops from dripping into the liquid crystal injection port, and a parallel link mechanism. In particular, the liquid crystal penetrant is brought into engagement with the liquid crystal injection port during liquid crystal injection. Hereinafter, a liquid crystal injection device according to the present invention will be explained in detail using the drawings.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing an embodiment of a liquid crystal injection device according to the present invention, and FIG. 2 is an end view of a main part thereof. In FIG. 1, a mounting plate 2 on which a liquid crystal reservoir 1 is placed and a mounting plate 4 on which a saucer mounting plate 3 is placed are arranged in parallel with one side facing each other. On the side of the liquid crystal reservoir 1 facing the saucer mounting plate 3,
A plurality of liquid crystal introduction pipes 5 are mounted in parallel perpendicularly to the side surface, and a plurality of receivers 6 are installed on the side surface of the tray mounting plate 3 facing the liquid crystal reservoir 1 in correspondence with the liquid crystal introduction pipes 5, respectively. It is arranged so as to be located below the liquid crystal introducing pipe 5. The liquid crystal reservoir 1 can rotate as shown by an arrow A around an axis 7, and the saucer mounting plate 3 can rotate as shown by an arrow B around an axis 8. The mounting plates 2 and 4 also serve as a rotation stopper. Liquid crystal is fed into the liquid crystal reservoir 1 through a liquid crystal introducing tube 9 and a nozzle 10, and is further guided from there to a liquid crystal introducing pipe 5. A liquid crystal penetrating body 11 is installed along the longitudinal direction at the bottom of the liquid crystal introduction pipe 5, and a sufficient amount of liquid crystal is always supplied to the liquid crystal penetrating body 11.
A glass cell 12 into which liquid crystal is to be injected is arranged below the liquid crystal penetrant 11 with the saucer 6 in between. The mounting plate 2 on which the liquid crystal reservoir 1 is placed is linked to the link 1.
3. Together with the pin 14 and the reference plate 15, it constitutes a parallel link mechanism. According to the operation of this parallel link mechanism, the liquid crystal introducing pipe 5 and the liquid crystal penetrating body 1
As shown in FIG. 2, 1 can take two states: a first state where it is above the tray 6, and a second state where it is engaged with the liquid crystal injection port 16 of the glass cell 12. All of the mechanisms described above are housed inside a vacuum container (not shown). Hereinafter, the operation of the liquid crystal injection device having the above configuration will be explained in detail.

When injecting liquid crystal, first, with the liquid crystal reservoir 1 and saucer mounting plate 3 rotated as shown by arrows A and B, the glass cell 12 is arranged as shown in the figure. Next, the liquid crystal reservoir 1 and the saucer mounting plate 3 are returned to the state shown in FIG. At this time, the liquid crystal introducing pipe 5 and the liquid crystal penetrating member 11 are in the position shown in the state shown in FIG. 2. When vacuuming is performed in this state, foaming occurs due to the moisture and air contained within the liquid crystal. The liquid crystal blown away during this bubbling and the liquid crystal excessively supplied to the liquid crystal introducer 11 fall as drops, but these drops accumulate in a saucer 6 disposed below. Therefore, the liquid crystal injection port 16 is prevented from being blocked by drops falling on the glass cell 12. Next, the link mechanism is operated to engage the liquid crystal introduction pipe 5 and the liquid crystal penetrating body 11 with the liquid crystal injection port 16 as shown in the state shown in FIG.
When the vacuum is released, the liquid crystal contained in the liquid crystal penetrant 11 passes through the liquid crystal injection port 16 and enters the glass cell 12.
injected into the inside of. After the liquid crystal is injected, the glass cell 12 can be easily removed by rotating the liquid crystal reservoir 1 and the saucer mounting plate 3 again in the directions of arrows A and B.

As explained above, according to the liquid crystal injection device of the present invention, by disposing a saucer below the liquid crystal penetrant during vacuum evacuation, the liquid crystal that scatters from the liquid crystal penetrant when foaming occurs due to degassing can be removed. , droplets of liquid crystal that drip due to being excessively supplied to the liquid crystal penetrant collect in this tray. Therefore, the chances of the liquid crystal injection port being blocked by droplets of liquid crystal falling during evacuation are significantly reduced, resulting in an excellent effect of greatly improving the manufacturing yield of liquid crystal cells.
