[Background Art 1 Conventionally, a pedometer that displays the number of steps by detecting the vertical movement associated with walking has a hook part 52 provided on the back of a pedometer main body 51 that is attached to a belt 53 or clothing, as shown in FIG. It's stopped,
Since the display section 54 faces forward, there is a problem in that in order to view the display, the user must hold the pedometer main body 51 and face the display section 54 upward, which is inconvenient.

Therefore, as shown in FIG. 17, when the hook part 56 of the pedometer main body 55 is attached to the waist belt 53, etc., the display part 57 is designed so that the display can be easily seen even while walking.
However, it is necessary to make the decimal meter main body 55 as thin as possible so that it does not interfere with exercise when attached to the waist.
The display section 57 is small and difficult to see, and since the display section 57 is exposed to the outside, there is a risk that the display section 57 may be damaged. Further, since the display section 57 is exposed to the outside, it tends to attract attention from people other than the recipient, and there is a problem that, for example, it becomes difficult to wear it on the way to work.

The pedometer main body 1 is formed from a main body casing 2 and a cover 3 covering the main body casing 2. A scratching section 6 consisting of an erase button 4, a switch 5 for switching between walking and running, and a display section 7 for displaying the number of steps, etc. are provided on the upper surface of the main body casing 2, and these scratching section 6 and display section 7 are protected. In order to do this, a cover 3 is attached to cover the upper surface of the main casing 2, as shown in FIG. 3, and can be opened and closed about rotating parts 8 on both sides of the base of the cover 3. Usually, the convex part 1 of the hook part 9 of the main casing 2
0 is fitted into a recess 11 formed at the end of the cover 3 and closed as shown in FIG. An abbreviated hook 12 is integrally formed on the back surface of the cover 3, and the hook 12 is used by being hooked onto a belt 13 or the like as shown in FIG. A stopper portion 14 is formed on the base end surface of the main body casing 2, as shown in FIG. 5(a). A stopper part 15 is also formed on the base end surface of the cover 3 in correspondence with the stopper part 14. When the cover 3 is closed, the stopper part 14.15 is as shown in FIG. 5(a). is formed at an angle of 90 degrees, and when the cover 3 is opened, as shown in FIG. 5 (1,),
When the cover 3 is opened 90 degrees, the stopper part 1 of the cover 3
5 hits the stopper part 14 of the main casing 2,
The cover 3 is designed not to open more than 90 degrees.

Next, the structure will be explained. FIGS. 6 and 7 show the main parts of a walking detection sensor 16 that detects walking by detecting vibrations of the human body accompanying walking. A pendulum 18 is supported by a shaft 19 on a U-shaped base 17. A small magnet 20 is attached to the tip of the pendulum 18. base 17 leg 1

and a support pin 24 at the tip of the pendulum 18. Stoppers 25 are provided on both inner sides of the base 17 to prevent the pendulum 18 from swinging too much. Walking detection sensor 16
is arranged at the bottom of the main body casing 2 as shown in Fig. ttF17, and a printed board 27 is arranged above the walking detection sensor 16, and a display section 7 is connected to the upper surface side of this printed board 27 via a connector rubber 28. is installed.

These are housed in the main casing 2 together with the battery 26, and are attached to the person's waist with the arrow direction in FIG. On the other hand, since the pendulum 18 swings up and down, the magnet 20 attached to the tip of the pendulum 18 approaches or moves away from the reed switch 21, and the reed switch 21 opens and closes. The opening/closing of this reed switch 21 is used as a detection signal to connect the dead band circuit 3 as shown in FIG.
1, the detection signal is input to the counter section 32, the detection signal is counted by the counter section 32, and the counted value is appropriately displayed on the display g7. Note that the dead band circuit 31 will be described later.

Here, V, since the measurer sets the changeover switch 5 provided on the main body casing 2 according to walking or running, separate unfavorable zone times rJ are provided for walking and running. . Dead band circuit 31, counter section 3
Since the second component can be constructed from a small electronic circuit, it is actually integrated with the walking detection sensor 1G and housed in the same main body casing 2. Note that other methods such as detecting the vibration of a magnet using a coil or detecting the distortion of a pendulum using a strain gauge may also be used as the means for detecting the vibration.

11 is provided with a walking detection sensor 16 consisting of a pendulum 18, a magnet 2(), a reed switch 21, etc., and a display 11'57 is provided on the main body casing 2. Therefore, even if the cover 3 of the pedometer main body 1 is opened and the main casing 2 with the display section 7 is held horizontally, the direction of vibration of the pendulum 18 is always vertical and does not change, so the walking movement The device operates normally, and the number of steps counted on the display section 7 of the main body casing 2 can be viewed while walking. In other words, accurate counts can be obtained even when walking while looking at the display.

However, if you walk in such a way that there are two peaks of acceleration in one pitch T, as shown in (e) in the same figure, the detection signal S will change to (
As shown in d), one pitch T includes two pulses p, , p2, so if this were counted as is, the number would be higher than the actual number of steps. (e) of the same figure shows a hold signal V that lasts for a fixed time period T0, which is shorter than the pitch T. This hold signal ■ is generated in the dead band circuit 31 in response to the first pulse P within the pitch T, and the hold signal ■ The second pulse P? which arrives during the duration of P? is prevented from being sent to the counter section 32.

[Effects of the Invention 1] As described above, the present invention provides a pedometer that is equipped with a walking detection sensor that detects walking by detecting vibrations of the human body accompanying walking, and that displays the number of steps on a display unit based on the output of this walking detection sensor. A main body casing in which the display section is exposed on the front side, a cover rotatably attached to the lower end of the main body casing to cover the front surface of the main body casing, and a hook extending downward from the back surface of the cover. Since the pedometer body is made thicker than necessary, unlike conventional pedometers, the display part can be made large and easy to see. Also, since the display part is protected by the cover, there is no risk of damage. Furthermore, by covering the main body casing with a cover, the display section is not normally visible, so it does not attract attention from anyone other than the person being measured (and can be worn discreetly). This has the following effect.
