This invention relates to a method for producing an absorbent deodorizing agent that is used in sanitary products such as diapers and sanitary products and has excellent not only water absorption but also deodorizing properties. Conventionally, sanitary products such as diapers and sanitary products are usually composed of water-absorbing agents such as absorbent cotton, water-absorbing paper, wood pulp, non-woven fabrics, and polymeric absorbents to absorb human body secretions.
absorbs excrement. Most of this secretion and excrement is water, but it also has a unique odor. However, each of the above-mentioned absorbents has no deodorizing effect at all, and for this reason, some sanitary products are mixed with a deodorizing agent for the sole purpose of deodorizing. From the user's standpoint, it is not desirable to mix foreign matter into the absorbent. The inventors of the present invention have conducted various studies on the manufacturing method of highly absorbent deodorizers that constitute such sanitary products. As a result, we have found that the vegetable fibers contained in sugar beets are heat-treated with high-temperature hot water, then dehydrated and dried. It was discovered that when powdered, it has extremely high water retention and also has very good deodorizing properties, leading to the present invention. The sugar beet plant fiber used in the present invention is made by cutting the raw material sugar beet into cossets for producing sugar beet and cutting the fibers at 65°C.
It is a residue obtained by immersing it in warm water at ~70°C to leach out water-soluble components such as sugar, and it is usually dehydrated and used as feed. To make this into a powder, the residue is dried, crushed, and sieved to collect only the powder to obtain sugar beet fiber powder. It is heat treated with hot water. This high-temperature treatment kills the bacteria contained in or attached to the cosette and deactivates the enzyme. The sugar beet fiber powder obtained as described above is mostly fibrous and does not have the characteristic odor of sugar beet.
The hue is also good. Table 1 shows an example of the component analysis of this sugar beet fiber powder.

Next, a water absorption test was conducted on the sugar beet fiber powder as described above to examine its water absorption properties. For comparison, other plant fiber powders such as wheat flour, wood fiber powder, and burdock fiber powder were also tested. The results are shown in Table 2. That is, as shown in Table 2, the water absorption capacity of sugar beet fiber powder is 17.69 times, which is extremely high compared to other vegetable fiber powders and about 5 times that of wood fibers, making it a burdock fiber powder that is said to be relatively good among natural products. The amount of water absorbed is slightly more than twice that of the previous year.

を第5表に示した。[Table] From the above test results, the polymeric water absorbing agent had no deodorizing effect at all, but the sugar beet fiber powder had an extremely large deodorizing effect, deodorizing at 1% (weight ratio), and was almost equivalent to activated carbon. . In this way, the product of the present invention has extremely excellent deodorizing properties while retaining water absorption properties.Although the reason for this is not clear, the product of the present invention is capable of removing sugar from the cosette in the sugar manufacturing process by heating it with hot water of 95 degrees or higher. The sugar beet odor has been eliminated through high-temperature heat treatment, and since it is extremely porous and contains pectin, hemicellulose, cellulose, and other composite fibers consisting of water-soluble fibers and insoluble fibers, it has excellent absorbency and is odor-free. It can be assumed that this is masking. Table 5 shows the particle size and the effect on water absorption and deodorizing performance of the product of the present invention.

From the above test results, it is clear that the product of the present invention is not affected by particle size, and the water absorption and deodorizing effects can be obtained due to the physical and chemical properties of the product of the present invention. The sugar beet fiber powder of the present invention can be used alone as an absorbing deodorizing agent, but it can also be used in a mixed or processed state with a polymeric water absorbing agent that does not have deodorizing ability. This invention is made possible by the fact that sugar beet fiber powder has high water absorption and excellent deodorizing properties, so it can extremely effectively absorb and deodorize human secretions and excreta, so it can be used as an absorbent deodorizer for diapers and sanitary products. By using it, it has become possible to handle it extremely easily. Examples will be explained below. Example 1 In the sugar beet sugar refining process, the leached cozette was taken out from the leaching tower, and the sugar beet cozette (moisture content) was removed from the leaching tower.
89.2%) 1 ton was immediately treated with 95℃ hot water to reduce the product temperature to 90℃.
After maintaining the mixture for the above 2 minutes, it was put in a press dehydrator to obtain 373 kg of dehydrated sugar beet (moisture 72.4%). Next, the dried sugar beet cosette with a moisture content of 5.4% was dried in a drum rotary dryer and sieved through an 18-mesh sieve, and 6 kg of the entire 18-mesh sieve was removed.
After crushing the dried sugar beet cosette on a mesh sieve using a compact mill (hammer mill type, screen opening 0.5 mm), it was sieved through a 150 mesh sieve to obtain 67 kg of powder (moisture 5.3%, ash 2.8%). Obtained. The sugar beet fiber powder obtained here was used as an absorbent for diapers, sanitary products, etc. of the present invention. Example 2 One side is a non-woven fabric and the other side is a water-impermeable thin film of polysheet, a water-absorbing layer made of laminated paper cotton is created inside, and a portion of the water-absorbing layer near the polysheet is coated with the material obtained in Example 1. A total of 32 g of disposable diapers were prepared by enclosing 8 g of the sugar beet fiber powder. This paper diaper was worn by an infant for 6 hours and then removed. It weighed 126g and absorbed almost 94g of urine. No leakage to the outside or wet water was observed, and there was no odor and the diaper was extremely easy to change. Example 3 Same as Example 2, one side was made of non-woven fabric and the other side was made of non-woven fabric.
The surface is made of a water-impermeable thin film of polysheet, and a water-absorbing layer made of laminated paper cotton is created inside, and 3 g of a polymeric water-absorbing agent (manufactured by Showa Denko, trade name: Preapple) and 3 g of sugar beet fiber powder obtained in Example 1 was mixed and sealed, and the total weight was
I made 30g disposable diapers. This paper diaper was worn by an infant for 6 hours and then removed. It weighed 145g and absorbed almost 115g of urine, but there was no leakage to the outside.
In addition, there was almost no odor and diapers were extremely easy to change.
