るもので、該ロータ6aは図示のように該軸1上
の1対のカム4,4の中間に位置して設けられる
ことが好ましい。尚第2図示のように該ロータ6
aを両カム4,4の一方にそれと一体に作り、こ
れを換言すれば該ロータ6aを該カム4に構成す
ることも可能である。尚本発明装置をDOHC型
のエンジンに適用した場合は例えば第3図及び第
4図に示す通りである。この場合エンジンは自動
2輪車用のエンジンで車体上に前傾して取付けら
れるものとし、カム軸1は吸気弁用の左側の半部
3と、排気弁用の右側の半部3とから成り、各半
部3は動弁カム4を右側と左側との各1対に有す
ると共にその両端部と中間部とを各軸受5,5,
5で支承されるようにした。図示のものでは、左
側の吸気弁用の半部3の右端部と中間部との軸受
5,5間にロータ6aを備えこれをその上側のピ
ツクアツプ6bと協動させて角度センサ6とする
もので、その上側にはカバ7が施されるようにし
た。このように本発明によるときは動弁カム軸を
少くとも2個の軸受で支承される型式とし、角度
センサを該軸受間に配置して設けるもので、該軸
受間に存する空間を有効に利用することが出来、
従来のこれと軸の端部に設ける式のものの前記し
た不都合がない効果を有する。
