Figures 1 and 2 are side views of the rear seat section in which the folding seats N of this invention are installed. Figure 1 shows the case where there is one row of rear seats, and Figure 2 shows the case where there are two rows of rear seats. , the front row seat M shown by the two-dot chain line is a folding seat with a conventional structure. 71, 72, 73 are locking tools,
Engagement holes 9 are provided on both left and right sides of the folding seat N to detachably engage engagement portions 8, which will be described later. The locking tool 72 is formed in a structure that can be fastened to the floor F, and the locking tool 72 is attached to the engagement hole 9 by slightly changing the height of the engagement hole 2.
There are two locations. Note that two locking tools 71 may be used as the locking tools 72. the locking tool 71,
Numerals 72 and 73 are provided at a plurality of locations on the vehicle body side wall W and the floor F as a pair on the left and right at positions where the engaging portions 8 of the folding seat N are engaged in each usage mode shown in FIGS. 7 and 8. In Figures 3 to 6,
For the folding seat N, the seat cushion 1 is fastened to the floor F via the seat legs 61 (Fig. 3), or
Alternatively, both left and right sides of the front end 11 of the seat cushion 1 are rotatably supported on the side wall W of the vehicle body by brackets 62 (FIG. 4). In the latter case,
As shown in FIG. 4, when the folding seat N is placed above the rear wheel house,
The engaging portions 8 provided on both left and right sides of the rear end 12 of the seat cushion 1 and the upper end 21 of the seat back 2 of the folding seat N are respectively locked by the locking tools 71 provided on the left and right pairs on the side wall W of the vehicle body. It is supported to form a normal rear seat. Rear end 12 of seat cushion 1 and lower end 22 of seat back 2
The seat bag 2 is connected to the seat bag 2 by a hinge device 5, so that the seat bag 2 can be tilted forward and backward. FIG. 3 shows a hinge device 5 of a folding seat N according to an embodiment shown.
A conventional seat recliner is used. As shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the front end 11 of the seat cushion 1 includes a cushion extension 3, and the upper end 21 of the seat back 2.
The back extension portions 4 are each foldably hinged by sewing or the like. The cushion extending portion 3 and the back extending portion 4 are formed of a flexible material such as a textile into a rectangular shape having approximately the same size as the seat cushion 1 and the seat back 2, respectively.
One end thereof is hinged to the front end 11 of the seat cushion 1 and the upper end 21 of the seat bag 2 as described above, and the other ends 31 and 41 are formed into a loop-shaped cross section, and held horizontally by a metal tube or the like within the loop-shaped cross section. Rod 3

By engaging with 73, the shape of the seat can be changed in various ways. That is, the engaging portions 8 formed at both axial ends of the horizontal rods 32, 42 of the folding seat N are slightly reduced in the axial direction of the horizontal rods 32, 42, and the locking tool 71 is placed at a desired position. 72, 73, the horizontal rods 32, 42 are brought into contact with the locking tools 71, 73 by the elastic action of the engaging portion 8.
Alternatively, the cushion extension 3 and the back extension 4 can be latched to 72 and 73 and stretched to form a desired seat configuration. Furthermore, when changing the seat configuration, the engaging portions 8 formed at the end portions of the horizontal rods 32, 42 are slightly reduced in the axial direction of the horizontal rods 32, 42, and the horizontal rods 32, 42 can be turned into locking devices. 7
1 or 72, 73, the engaging portion 8 can be secured to the locking tool 71 or 72, 73 at another desired position by operating in the same manner as described above.

Figure 7e shows a case where there are one row of rear seats, and for example, the cushion extension 3 of Figure 7b is In the usage configuration in which the seat cushion 1 is extended forward, the seat back 2 is further laid down substantially horizontally rearward by the hinge device 5 (seat recliner), and then the back extension portion 4 is folded into the upper end 21 of the seat back 2. The horizontal rod 42 of the back extension part 4 rotates and extends rearward about the attachment part.
The engaging portions 8 formed at both ends of the back extension portion 4 are located at the extended position of the other end 41 of the back extension portion 4, and are attached to the side wall W of the vehicle body.
When the cushion extension 3, the seat cushion 1, the seat back 2, and the back extension 4 are engaged with the locking devices 71 provided on the left and right pairs, the cushion extension 3, the seat cushion 1, the seat back 2, and the back extension 4 become in a series of substantially horizontal states, so that only one folding seat can be used. A spacious bed can be formed. FIG. 8c shows a case where there are two rows of rear seats, the seat back 2 is laid down approximately horizontally by the hinge device 5, and the engaging portions 8 provided at both ends of the horizontal rod 22 at the upper end 21 of the seat back 2 are The upper end 21 of the seat bag 2 is located in the reclining position and is engaged with a pair of locking tools 71 provided on the left and right sides of the vehicle body side wall W, while at the same time, the seat back 2' of the front row folding seat M is moved to a substantially horizontal position. When reclined by the seat recliner 5, the seat cushion 1' and the seat back 2' of the front row folding seat M become a series of substantially horizontal planes, and the seat cushion 1, the cushion extension 3, the seat back 2, and the back of the folding seat N form a series of substantially horizontal planes. The upper surfaces of two stacked sheets of the extending portion 4 can be aligned to form a bed.

This shows how it is used as a safety space (soft tray) that protects from impacts such as starting, turning, sudden stopping, bouncing, etc. The size of the safety space can be changed as appropriate depending on the loading capacity and the like. For example, in the bed usage configuration shown in FIG. 7e, the cushion extension part 3 and the back extension part 4, which are both inverted and extended in the front-rear direction, are turned upside down and opposed to each other after the engagement part 8 is disengaged. When the engaging portion 8 is locked to the locking tools 71 which are located at the height of the inverted upper ends of the cushion extension portion 3 and the back extension portion 4 and are provided on the left and right sides of the vehicle body side wall W, as shown in FIG. 7e.
The safety space shown in Figure 8(f) is an example of the combination of the safety space and tonneau cover, which protects young children and reduces vibrations and shocks against fragile objects, making it unnecessary to bring in special protective cushioning materials. There are some advantages.
