Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 （産業上の利用分野） 本発明は、印字のドツト数を変換できるように改善した
ドツトプリンタに関するものである。
（従来の技術） 第２図に、ドツトプリンタの電気的構成の一例のブロッ
ク図を示す。第２図において、システムカートリッジ１
には、文字フォント２およびファームウェアプログラム
３等が記憶され、中央演算処理装置４の信号に応じて文
字フォント２から１文字づつキャラクタデータが読み出
され、印字ヘッド−制御装置５に与えられる。そして、
このキャラクタデータに応じて印字ヘッド制御装置５は
ヘッドドライバー６を制御して印字ヘッド７のピンが適
宜に駆動される。また、ファームウェアプログラム３か
らラインフィード制御信号とヘッド移動制御信号とが読
み出され、それぞれラインフィード制御回路８とヘッド
移動制御回路９とに与えられ、ラインフィードモータｌ
Ｏとヘッド移動用ステップモータ１１が適宜に制御され
る。そして、印字ヘッド７とヘッド移動用ステップモー
タ１１とラインフィードモータ１０とが適宜に制御され
て、印字が行おわる。
ここで、印字ヘッド７は９ビン、　＋８ピンおよび２４
ピンと各種のものがある。そして、印字ヘッド７のピン
数に応じてキャラクタデータ等も異なり、印字ヘッド７
のピン数に応じた文字フォント２およびファームウェア
プログラム３がシステムカートリッジ１に記憶されてい
る。
（発明が解決しようとする問題点） ところで、印字ヘッド７のピン数を多くシて１文字を形
成するドツト数を多くすれば、漢字等の複雑な形状を明
確に図示することができるが、それだけ文字フォント３
で記憶されるデータ量が多くなり必要とする記憶容量が
大きくなって高価なものとなる。また、英字や数字は、
ドツト数が少なくても充分に識別できるため、印字ヘッ
ド７のピン数が少ないもので良く、文字フォント３のデ
ータ量も少なく安価なものでたりる。
そして、従来のドツトプリンタは、印字ヘッド７および
システムカートリッジ１が装置に製造工程で組み込まれ
、需要者は容易に交換できない。
このために、漢字等の印字にはドツト数の多いドツトプ
リンタを使用し、英字や数字の印字にはドツト数の少な
いドツトプリンタを使用し、用途に応じて使い分けがな
されていた。
本発明の目的は、上記した従来のドツトプリンタの事情
に鑑みてなわれたもので、用途に応じて印字のドツト数
を変換することのできるドツトプリンタを提供すること
にある。
（問題点を解決するための手段） かかる目的を達成するために、本発明のドツトプリンタ
は、装置本体に配設されたキャリッジに、印字ヘッドを
着脱自在に設けるとともに、前記装置本体に、文字フォ
ントおよびファームウェアプログラムが記憶されたシス
テムカートリッジを着脱自在に設け、前記印字ヘッドと
システムカートリッジをピン数の異なるものに交換する
ことで印字のドツト数を変換することができるように構
成されている。
（作用） 印字ヘッドとシステムカートリッジを着脱自在としたの
で、用途に応じたピン数の印字ヘッドとシステムカート
リッジを需要者が適宜に選択して装着させることで、１
台のドツトプリンタを異なるドツト数のプリンタとして
用いることができる。
（実施例の説明） 以下、本発明の実施例を第１図を参照して説明する。第
１図は、本発明のドツトプリンタの一部切欠き外観斜視
図である。
第１図において、文字フォント２およびファームウェア
プログラム３等が記憶されるシステムカートリッジ１か
装置本体２０に着脱自在に設けられている。さらに、印
字ヘッド７も装置本体２０に配設されたキャリッジ２１
に着脱自在に設けられている。このキャリッジ２１に印
字ヘッド７を着脱自在に設ける構造として、例えばキャ
リッジ２１の先端部に端子の挿入接続および位置決め用
の四部２２が設けられ、印字ヘッド７の先端部を凹部２
２に挿入して電気的接続するとともに位置決め固定され
る。なお、印字ヘッド７をキャリッジ２１に着脱自在に
設ける構造は、上記に限られないことは勿論である。
さらに、印字ヘッド７は、同一の取付形状でピン数の異
なる複数の種類が用意されるとともに、印字ヘッド７の
ピン数に応じた文字フォント２等が記憶された複数の種
類のスシテムカートリッジ１が用意されている。
そこで、需要者が用途に応じたピン数の印字ヘッド７と
システムカートリッジｌを装置本体２０に装着すること
で、１台のドツトプリンタを異なるドツト数のプリンタ
として用いることができ、１台のドツトプリンタを多目
的に使用できて経済的である。
なお、第１図において、２３はプラテンノブ、２４はパ
ワースイッチ、２５．２６はウィンドカバー、２７はフ
リクションレバーである。
（発明の効果） 以上説明したように、本発明のドツトプリンタによれば
、印字ヘッドとシステムカートリッジを交換することで
、用途に応じたドツト数の印字ができ、１台のドツトプ
リンタを多目的に使用できて極めて経済的であるという
優ねた効果を奏する。

第１図は、本発明のドツトプリンタの一部切欠き外観斜
視図であり、第２図は、ドツトプリンタの電気的構成の
一例のブロック図である。 １ニジステムカートリツジ、 ２：文字フォント、 ３：ファームウェアプログラム、 ４：中央演算処理装置、 ７：印字ヘッド、２０：装置本体、 ２１：キャリッジ。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 装置本体に配設されたキャリッジに、印字ヘッドを着脱
    自在に設けるとともに、前記装置本体に、文字フォント
    およびファームウェアプログラムが記憶されたシステム
    カートリッジを着脱自在に設け、前記印字ヘッドとシス
    テムカートリッジをピン数の異なるものに交換すること
    で印字のドット数を変換することができるようにしたこ
    とを特徴とするドットプリンタ。
