Prior Art In the sewing work of a sewing machine, especially in the case of embroidery sewing work, when the feed dog descends, the workpiece cloth is fed in an arbitrary direction by hand in order to form the desired stitch pattern, and the workpiece cloth is It is necessary to arbitrarily change the amplitude of the sewing needle as the needle is fed. However, conventional sewing machines with a zigzag stitch function are equipped with an adjustment dial on the front of the machine frame that can set the desired amplitude of the sewing needle.
It has been difficult for a worker, who has to delicately feed the work cloth with both hands, to change the amplitude of the sewing needle by operating the adjustment dial. If the adjustment dial is operated with one hand and the work cloth is fed with one hand, the stitch pattern will be disordered.

On the other hand, for example, a switch device with a first position for powering off, a second position for powering on, and a third position for mode switching is operated, and is normally used as a foot pedal for controlling the speed of the sewing machine motor. A sewing machine is conceivable in which the mode of the operating body is switched to adjust the amplitude of the needle as necessary, and the mode is displayed at all times, so that the amplitude of the sewing needle can be adjusted using the foot operating body during sewing. ing. In such sewing machines, the power supply is turned off to prevent unconscious mode switching if the user accidentally moves to the third position when moving from the first position to the second position.
It is set so that the mode switching of the foot operation body becomes effective only after a certain period of time has elapsed after the switch is turned on.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, for example, when the mode of the foot operating body is set to amplitude adjustment with the intention of performing embroidery sewing from the beginning, if the mode is intentionally switched to the third position immediately after the power is turned on, Since the mode of the foot control unit cannot be switched to amplitude adjustment until a certain period of time has passed after the power is turned on, it is necessary to confirm that the mode has been switched one by one using the display, which is cumbersome. Moreover, if this confirmation is neglected, the foot operating body may be operated in an unintended mode, and there is a risk that accurate stitch formation may not be obtained. Moreover, in such conventional sewing machines, when switching the mode of the foot operating body, the switch device must be operated to the third position, which is cumbersome.

Therefore, according to the present invention, when the operator connects the foot operating body to the connection terminal before starting work, the operator selects either one for controlling the swinging position of the needle or for controlling the speed of the sewing machine motor. Since you will inevitably have to select a mode, you may have to check which mode the foot control is switched to when performing embroidery, etc. Compared to conventional sewing machines, which cannot be obtained accurately and sluggish, the operation for switching the foot control device is simpler, and sewing operations such as embroidery and yew stitching can be performed easily and accurately. . Moreover, connecting the foot control body to the connection terminal is normally done before starting work, and when performing this work, the mode of the foot control body can be changed by simply selecting one of the two connection terminals. Since the mode can be switched, there is no need to perform special work for mode switching.

Received speed data SP and speed command data SV
Based on the deviation between the actual speed of the sewing machine motor 25 represented by the speed data SP and the command speed represented by the speed command data SV, the CPU 21 fires the thyristor such that the deviation becomes zero, according to a predetermined program. Calculate the timing and apply the drive signal at the corresponding ignition timing.
SO is generated and supplied to the motor drive circuit 53.
Further, the CPU 21 supplies a braking signal SB to the motor drive circuit 53 at appropriate times in response to a stop operation by the push button 7 or generation of an abnormal signal.

If the plug 16 of the foot controller 17 is not inserted into the sockets 18 and 19, the rotation speed of the sewing machine motor 25 will be the same as that of the switch 4, since the switches 36 and 51 are closed.
The sewing needle 11 is controlled at a constant speed based on a three-step constant speed command signal arbitrarily selected from 3 to 45.
The amplitude amount is adjusted to an arbitrary amplitude amount set by the amplitude adjustment dial 12, and a stitch pattern is formed.
These operations must be performed manually by the worker, making it difficult to adjust them freely as the sewing progresses. Sewing work is done from beginning to end.

When the plug 16 of the foot controller 17 is inserted into the socket 18, the opposing electrodes of the plug 16 and the socket 18 are connected, and the switch 51 is opened, so that a variable speed command representing the command speed of the sewing machine motor 25 is generated. The signal is switch 4

The rotation speed can be changed to any desired speed within the range (medium speed/low speed). Furthermore, since this operation is performed based on the amount of foot depression, it can be freely changed as the sewing progresses. In this case, sewing needle 11

Next, when the plug 16 of the foot controller 17 is inserted into the socket 19, the plug 16
Since the opposite electrodes of the socket 19 are connected and the switch 36 is opened, the needle position signal SNA representing the amplitude of the needle is generated as a divided voltage by the resistor 33 and the potentiometer 20. That is, since the amplitude adjustment dial 12 has been replaced with the foot controller 17, the sewing needle 11 can be freely adjusted as sewing progresses by pressing the foot.
The amount of amplitude can be changed, which is particularly convenient for embroidery. In this case, the rotational speed of the sewing machine motor 25 is driven at a constant speed selected according to the operation of the switches 43 to 45, and the start and stop of the sewing machine motor 25 is operated by the push button 7.

As described above, in this embodiment, when the foot controller 17 is connected to the amplitude adjustment socket 19, the needle position signal SNA is adjusted according to the amount of depression of the foot controller 17, and the horizontal position of the needle 11 is adjusted. While the swing position in the direction is controlled, when the foot controller 17 is connected to the speed adjustment socket 18, a variable speed command signal is generated in relation to the amount of pedal operation of the foot controller 17, and the sewing machine motor 25 is controlled. The speed of the motor is controlled by variable speed. Therefore, according to the sewing machine of this embodiment, the operator inserts the plug 16 of the foot controller 17 into the socket 18 or 1 before starting work.
When connecting to the foot controller 9, it is necessary to select either the amplitude adjustment or the speed adjustment, so a special switching operation is required to switch the foot controller 17. Compared to conventional sewing machines, in which the foot controller 17 has to be checked to see which purpose it has been switched to before starting work, or if this is not checked, the seams cannot be formed accurately. The switching operation of step 17 is simplified, and sewing operations such as embroidery and sewing can be performed easily and accurately.
