造方法に関する。最近、内燃機関の燃料消費効率
の改善や排ガス公害防止の観点から内燃機関のシ
リンダ廻りの気密特性を更に向上させることが望

け入れられそれらの周方向対接面端部8,9がリ
ング外周摺動面3及び一側面4に周方向に延在し
てそれぞれ位置するようにしたいわゆるダブルア
ングル合い口構造を有するピストンリングが提案

漏洩流路が形成されず良好な気密特性を示すとと
もに耐摩耗特性も良好であり、内燃機関用圧縮ピ
ストンリングとして使用する場合、顕著な効果を

部に周方向に突出する突出部を設けるとともに、

け入れる凹部を設けてなる合い口構造を有し、且
つ外周面にめつき処理層を有するピストンリング
であつて、リング外周に位置する前記突出部と凹
部との対接面端縁に面取りが施されていないこと
を特徴とする内燃機関用ピストンリング。 2 一方の合い口端部の外周面と一側面寄りの角
部に周方向に突出する突出部を設け、他方の合い
口端部の前記突出部に対応する位置に装着状態で
前記突出部を受け入れる凹部を設けてなるピスト
ンリング素材の該突出部と凹部との周方向対接面
間に電気絶縁材よりなる薄板をリング外周面より
僅かに突出した状態で介在させてピストンリング
素材の合い口を閉じ、外周面にめつき処理を施し
た後、前記薄板を除去し、続いて外周仕上げ処理
を施すことを特徴とする内燃機関用ピストンリン
