電気信号へ変換するヘツドを電気―機械変換素子
を用いて位置決めするヘツドの位置制御装置であ
つて、前記ヘツドは記録トラツクの半径方向へ大
きく移動可能な機構及び、微小な距離移動可能な
２段の移動機構上へ搭載され、前記移動機構上に
磁気抵抗素子を設け、該磁気抵抗素子により前記
２段の移動機構の相対位置関係を検出し、前記移
動機構間の相対位置を予め設定した範囲内に入る
ように制御することを特徴とするヘツド位置制御
