In this invention, a spindle for driving a magnetic recording medium is connected to a motor, and a transmission mechanism converts the rotational force of a pinion connected to the spindle into reciprocating motion and transmits it to a head holder. This allows the magnetic recording medium to rotate and the head to move, thereby simplifying the structure.Furthermore, the motor is a direct drive type thin type, and a base that covers the motor and a disk that supports one side of the magnetic recording medium are used. The diskette base faces the diskette base while forming a flat space, and a transmission mechanism is installed in this flat space, and a part of the transmission mechanism is located within the opening plane of the opening formed in the diskette base. The spacing between the diskette bases and the base can be further reduced, and the overall structure can be made thinner.Furthermore, the head holder and transmission mechanism can be assembled on the base that covers the motor, and the diskette base can be mounted on top of the head holder and transmission mechanism. It is constructed so that it can be easily assembled by stacking parts one after another so that they cover each other.

In such a configuration, by energizing the coil 3, the magnet 11, yoke 9, and disk 12 are connected.
The spindle 19 rotates, and this rotational force is transmitted from the holder 22 to the magnetic recording medium 83 on the one hand. On the other hand, the rotational force of the spindle 19 is transmitted through the gear 42.
The gear 43, together with the head arm 45 and the head load arm 48, rotates clockwise while deflecting the spring 46. That is, the pad 51 keeps the magnetic recording medium 83 from floating, and the head 44 records or reads information as it moves from the center of the rotating magnetic recording medium 83 toward the outer periphery. When the head 44 reaches the outer periphery, the gear 42 has just completed one rotation, and the non-interference portion 52 faces the gear 43. As a result, the gear 43, together with the head arm 45 and head load arm 48, returns counterclockwise by the force of the spring 46. Signals for the start and end of recording and reading need to be input to a microcomputer (not shown), but the signals are input by the photoelectric conversion element 64 to the reflective surface 66.
This is obtained by detecting one revolution of the gear 41 facing the light absorbing surface 67. One rotation of the gear 41 corresponds to one period of the head arm 45, and the head 4
It is possible to accurately determine the home position of 4.

Also, the Hall element 7 is connected to the magnet 11 every time.
Detect the reference position of The photoelectric conversion element 63 detects the number of revolutions by receiving the reflected light that is reflected between the slits 13 from the light irradiated toward the disc 12. The Hall element 7 is housed in the square hole 8 of the PC board 6,
The disk 12 is thin and stacked on the yoke 9, and the photoelectric conversion element 63 has a light emitting part and a light receiving part and is attached to the disk 1.
2, the motor M is extremely thin. In this way, the rotational position and rotational speed of the motor M are detected and controlled by the detection signals, so that recording and reading can be performed extremely accurately.
The photoelectric conversion element 64 that determines the home position and the photoelectric conversion element 63 that controls the motor M are the same.
Since it is held on the PC board 62, installation and wiring work is easy.

Further, since the pinion 21 which is prevented from rotating by the spindle 19 and the holder 22 are directly connected by engagement between the hole 34 and the protrusion 32, there is play between the spindle 19 and the cylinder 23 of the holder 22. 2 acts as a toggle spring, and the diskette base 55 and cover 56 do not rotate upward due to vibration or the like. When attaching or detaching the magnetic recording medium 83, external force is applied to rotate the diskette base 55 and cover 56 upward about the stepped screw 57 as a fulcrum. As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the diskette base 55 and the cover 56 are rotated upward so that the connecting portions 75 and 76 of the opening/closing rod 77 are connected to the tension spring 8.

When assembling the diskette base 55 and cover 56 to the base 14, after fastening the rear parts of both to the support pieces 53 and 54 with stepped screws 57, connect the opening/closing rod 77 attached to the base 14 to the diskette base 55. . In this operation, first move the opening/closing rod 77 to the right (downward in Figure 2). This margin is determined by dimensions f and g. Then, the support piece 68
Shift the opening/closing rod 77 to the left (upward in Figure 2) by maximizing the stroke at which the arm 73 comes into contact with the arm 73, insert the left end connecting portion 76 into the hole in the connecting piece 79, and bend the arm 73 slightly to the left. The right end connecting portion 75 is inserted into the connecting piece 78 and the hole 80 by the elastic restoring force. Then, the connecting portion 7 is inserted into the groove 81 of the cover 56.
5 restricts the rightward movement of the opening/closing rod 77 and prevents the connecting portion 76 from falling off from the connecting piece 79. The tension of the tension spring 82 also acts to prevent slight movement of the opening/closing rod 77 due to vibration in the left-right direction.

As for the overall structure, the flat space between the base 14 and the bottom plate 1 includes a plurality of coils 3 arranged on a plane, and a yoke 9 and a magnet 11 arranged in a flat plate as main components. A thin, plasticless direct drive type motor M is equipped, and the transmission mechanism 35 is compactly installed in a flat space with the gear 43 serving as the upper part thereof facing inside the opening surface of the opening 60 of the diskette base 55. Furthermore, the control circuit of the motor M is held on the same plane as the PC board 6 that holds the Hall element 7, and the diskette base 55 on which the jacket 84 is placed.
The transmission mechanism 35 is also arranged in substantially the same plane as the upper surface of the transmission mechanism 35 by means of forming an opening 60 to prevent interference with the gear 43. Therefore, it is possible to design the entire structure to be thin and improve stability and aesthetic design. Assembling can also be done in a simple manner by stacking them from the bottom.

Since this invention is configured as described above, it is possible to drive the magnetic recording medium and move the head with a single motor, thereby simplifying the structure. Using a motor, the base that covers the motor and the diskette base face each other while forming a flat space, and this flat space converts the rotational force of the pinion fixed to the spindle into reciprocating motion and transmits it to the head holder. In addition, a part of the transmission mechanism is exposed to the opening surface of the opening formed in the diskette base, making the overall structure thinner and making assembly easier by stacking parts. It has the advantage of being able to be used in extremely large quantities.
