Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the overall heating device in a melting furnace small in size and less expensive by forming the heating device in a melting furnace with a plasma torch which delivers plasma into the ash deposit. CONSTITUTION:A melting furnace 12 has a heating device 13 which melts the ash remaining in the melting furnace 12 and is disposed under the ash removal opening 11 near the end of the stoker 9 in the incinerating furnace 2 at a location on the furnace body 7 to receive the ash dropping from the ash removal opening 11. As the heating device 13, a plasma torch is used which ejects plasmatized process gas by discharging electricity supplied from power receiving facilities 14. The plasma torch end is located in a position to deliver plasma into the ash deposit. Since the plasma torch can generate plasma with a stable electric discharge regardless of properties and conditions of ash from a stoker type city refuse incinerator, the device for electric discharge can be made smaller in size.
