Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify the structure by providing a U-shaped pipe of a different cross-sectional area between a gas storage chamber and the container for an evaporator and an absorber thereby using a hydrogen transmission unit commonly at the time of cooling and heating. CONSTITUTION: At the time of heating operation, pressure in a gas storage chamber 3 increases because heated steam flows in through U-shaped pipes 23, 24 and solution flows down through a pipe 14. Consequently, solution in the pipes 14, 15 higher than the opening of a pipe 19 passes through a gas-liquid separator 6 and the pipe 19 and returns back to the lower section of the container for an evaporator and an absorber 4. A steam layer thereby prevails in the U-shaped pipes 23, 24. Hydrogen generated in an absorption cold/hot water unit by the steam layer is discharged from a hydrogen transmission unit 10 in the gas storage chamber 3. At the time of cooling, the solution drips from a concentrated solution ascending pipe 18 down to an absorber 2 and absorbs steam from an evaporator 1 before dropping to the lower section of the absorber 2. The dropped solution flows from a liquid pan 22 to the pipe 23 up to a level indicating the pressure difference between the gas storage chamber 3 and the lower section of the absorber 2 thus sustaining the pressure difference between them.
