Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce a temperature change in a refrigerator by stopping an operation of a defrost expediting means and simultaneously restarting supply to circulate brine to a cooler when defrosting of the cooler is finished, thereby effectively suppressing a rise of an indoor temperature in the case of the defrosting operation. CONSTITUTION: When a cooling operation is repeated and a predetermined time is elapsed so that a cam time TM is time up, a refrigerator is shifted to a defrosting operation, and a compressor CM, fan motors FM1 , FM2 , FM3 are all stopped. At this time, heaters H1 , H2 and a relay X are started to be energized. Heating of the cooler 7 by heaters H1 , H2 is sufficient only at its outer surface so that the defrosting is executed in a short time, frost adhered to the cooler 7 is melted to water droplet, which is dripped on a drip pan 27, and drained out of the refrigerator. The cooler 7 is raised at its temperature when its frost is melted to cut OFF energizations to the heaters H1 , H2 and the relay X. At this time point, brine 8 in a brine tank 6 is circulated to the cooler 7 to cool it, and to cool the heaters H1 , H2 , thereby abruptly lowering the indoor temperature.
