Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a sheet metal from being damaged, and to simplify the maintenance by clamping parallel edges of the sheet metal by a tongue-shaped member or a suction cup in a first working stage, clamping the sheet metal only by a strip-shaped member to achieve the clamping action, and moving the sheet metal in the three-dimensional direction. CONSTITUTION: A side part 1 of a manipulator 1 is fitted to a forward part of a sheet metal working device, and two frames 2 and two guide frames 3 are arranged thereon. A spindle 5 vertically moves a beam 4 for connection by a motor 6. Support members 18, 19 of a carrying device 11 are advanced/ separated to/from through a chain 15, and a tongue-shaped clamping member 20 clamps parallel edges of a sheet metal 24, and is turned around the horizontal axis. A suction cup 35 is used as necessary. The sheet metal 24 is clamped for the next work only by the strip-shaped member 23 or a gripping member 32. Since the primary sheet metal work is achieved by clamping the parallel edges and the sheet metal with increased rigidity is clamped by the strip-shaped member, etc., damages of the sheet metal 24 are prevented, and the clamping is simplified.
