Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a thermoplastic elastomer composition having excellent frictional abrasion resistance and suitable for molding a sliding material, etc., by compounding a thermoplastic elastomer with specific amounts of an ultra- high-molecular weight polyethylene, a low-molecular weight polyethylene and a synthetic oil. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic elastomer is compounded with (A) 3-50wt.%, preferably 10-30wt.% (based on the whole composition) of an ultra-high- molecular weight polyethylene having a molecular weight of >=500,000, (B) 1-20wt.%, preferably 5-10wt.% of a low-molecular weight polyethylene having a molecular weight of <=10,000 and (C) 1-30wt.%, preferably 10-20wt.% of a synthetic oil having a viscosity of preferably <=500cst.
